Hi, gang:

My 2002 4-door (61,000 miles) has started making a creaking / groaning noise when I turn to the right at low speeds.

It seems to be coming from the right front, but I can't tell if it's the rack, PS pump, suspension, etc.

No noise when I turn left...and no shimmy or twitch when driving. Just the creepy "creaking door on a haunted house" sound when making low-speed turns...

I know some Tauruses had spring breaking probs, etc, and I'm wondering what this might be on my Focus.

Thanks for helping,

Based on my experience, I'd say check the right front sway bar endlink. That's the sound it makes when it fails.

Don't have a clue what the actual torque specs are on those, but I tightened mine to 35 ft-lbs. But loose end-links are probably not the problem, just shot end-link joints. Best to jsut replace'em.
