I just got some more info on the units and thought I would share.

1. The units are only married to the car if anything other than the stock " backup tune" are flashed onto the PCM. Thus, when buying a new car or selling the unit, it doesn't stay married to the VIN.

2. The units that come locked from Vortech can be unlocked by an authorized Diablo Sport tuner. The only limited function is the modify tune. The units are otherwise 100%.

Hope this helps with those of you that have emailed me.

Yes they do, located at the bottom ofthe unit. You can also use a serial to USB cable as well.

Just to clear, your saying the unit recognizes the last flash update it did and the associate VIN.

So if you flash your car with the unit, it pretty much marks that tune as the last tune used and the associated VIN,and thus it's locked to that VIN. However if you go back and flash the stock tune back, the unit is now unlocked again and can used on a different car correct?
