Guys I have to admit I'm starting to get a bit discouraged with most of the posts here about problems with FI and the focus.
I bought my car around october of last year and its been working great stock. But the reason I bought it is because I wanted to build a street car and start with a vehicle with some life in it. Preferably not a car older than 3 years. Mine is a 2000 ZX3. The goal was always around 200hp at the wheels and 200lbs torque. But after reading many of the posts here it seems that one can expect serious problems within a year of dropping a turbo on the car. Understandably, with any project car you'll run into problems, but even with so many turbos out there now its seems that the majority of people are still blowing up their engines. I can chalk it up to inexperience, but so am I. Inexperienced that is... I have however been learning over the past eight months, and with a turbo I do plan on going to a dyno and get some custom chip work, but after spending 5 grand I don't want to spend a grand rebuilding my engine every two years.
Somebody tell me why I shouldn't just go out righ now and get a subaru WRX. I mean its four door, factory turbocharged, and all wheel drive, on much nicer suspension. Somebody help me out here. Is it possible that I'm just trying to take on too much.
