Hey,

I'm going to try to get a spring compressor today. If I do I want to swap in some koni adjustables for my stock SVT struts. So does anyone have the torque specs I need? I need the top, bottom and middle (not the brake line clamps) numbers if anyone has them.

Thank you.

Re: Does anyone have the torque specs handy for the front struts

Think the top 3 nuts are 13ft/lbs and the bottom pinch bolt is 66ft/lbs. But I’m not positive.

I didn't get the sping compressor yet. I ran out of time. So thank you for the info.

Can anyone confirm the 13/13?

With the link given above is that 115 Nm on the bottom of the rear shocks? The font on the page is a little off and I don't want to F-this up.

Ok thank you. That leaves the nut on top of the strut and the swaybar end link connection. Anyone have these?

115 Nm is way too tight for any of the stuff on the front. I just had my H&R coilovers off Sunday for cleaning, adjustment, and replacement of some Ford stuff on the top of them. The actual top of the strut shaft needs to be tightened down to "as tight as you can get it and then some". Given the fact that you'll be using an allen wrench and an offset wrench (or a regular combination wrench and some patience) you probably won't be able to get too much torque on it. I'm sure there's an actual value somewhere, though. I had one that must have been a tiny bit loose. Over time it actually slotted the top of the mount. Fortunately the threads were ok. The 3 top strut mounting nuts go to 24 or 25 Nm. I don't remember on the pinch bolt, I'll have to look that one up later. It is LESS than the 115 Nm stated above. I'll check it out tonight if I remember... Or somebody remind me.

Good luck!

Edit: The sway bar end links were around 50-55 Nm according to the manual. You'll need a THIN (thinner than standard) 17mm (I think) wrench to slide onto the back of the mounting ball if you want to put a torque wrench (15mm I believe) onto the front. Otherwise it'll be another go around with a allen wrench and combo wrench.

Strut top mount nuts - 18lbft
thrust bearing nut - 35lbft
endlink to strut - 37lbft
Knuckle to strut - 67lbft
