DSI METAL CLIP!!!!!!! *(SOLD OUT)*

Here it is. A metal replacement for the plastic Dual Stage Intake clip. This has broken or will most likely break on every SVT. Unless you have a JRSC to replace the whole intake manifold, then you might be interested.

I've been waiting for this part for a while and it finally came in today. I tracked it down from This Thread

I'm intent on finding a shop that can give me a quote on making these to spec. This is a custom part from England for the ST170 (same engine) and some here have tried to get in touch with them I think without success. It works out to be $110 USD and want to get them made for less if I can. I don't know if anyone has one but I'd like to do this community a service if I can.

I have not tried it on my car yet but it should work by all accounts. The company that made it sells out of them in England quite regularly it seems and I waited for this recent batch and reserved one before it was made.

I just need an idea how many are interested so I can get a price per part (the more made the lower the price kind of thing).

depending on how much it costs, i'll be in.. it looks nice and sturdy which is good.. but if it's to expensive i'd rather bring it into the dealership for warranty work!

I'm in the process of getting some quotes from a few CNC fabricators. I'll know more what were in for tomorrow. I'm taking it by to get measured and accessed at (what seems to be) a reputable shop. I'll keep updating as I find out more.

I would be interested...I would rather spend a little money than have to spend time at the dealer.

For some reason my return PM is not working.

For the record: I'm trying to get these made for as little as possible and getting them made here in North America, (Canada to be precise) and sell them for almost cost. I love this community and what it has done to extend the love of my car.

I have a preliminary estimate from a local shop and were talking about 35 bucks USD for about 50 made. If I only get half that made the price will double. Still a good price I think, 70 bucks for 25 parts.

I'm not really concerned about anyone else trying to get them made, for less would be great, but I have mine and could give a [censored] if I went out of my way. I'm doing it to really help out because I've had the plastic part break and want piece of mind like anyone would.

If you can get them made for less, go for it, I'm going to make them exclusive for FJ and if it takes off, great. I might go sell them on ebay.

I'll have the exact numbers in another day or so and if you can get them for a better price, I'll send you the measurements and you can take over.

I'm going to post the exact cost and let everyone say how much It's worth (dictate the profit) and be fair about it. I could make nothing, but then again, who works for free. I don’t expect you or your friend to.

I'll keep posting as I find out more.

Oh, okay man. No harm, no foul. Yu've got it well in hand. I was just trying to help out. Let me know what you get going. I'll be in for it. My DSI clip hasn't broken yet, but I'd love to have a metal one JIC.

I wonder what the dealer would say if I came in under warranty with this metal clip in hand. Would they install free? Sure would be nice to have THEM fix it only once.

Most likely they would balk over the liability

Does anyone have a picture of a DSI clip? I hear about these breaking a lot. I looked at the intake for a minute to see if I could see it, but I didn't see anything right off the bat. I didn't move anything though so it just may have been covered.

What are the symptoms of this breaking?

That depends how many I get made. I'll be making a big financial investment if it works out and don't want to be holding the bag if people don't want it. It will be a better price than I got mine for and actualy be available. Try getting it from where I got it from. It will take months to get it (if you can get it) and most likly cost more.
