Does anyone have any opinions on this? I'm going to be replacing it soon off 2.3 pzev. I was thinking that I'd be able to pull the manifold and flex out in one peice once i move the vmv and fuel lines with a little twisting and turning. Has anyone tried this or should i just take both compontents apart and out on their own? Thanks for the help and suggestions.

If you can get your hands on the second issue of Focus Fanatic, you'll see the install on Benny's car.

It's not exactly a piece of cake; which is why I haven't done it yet.

I've been racing toy cars (1/10th scale all-wheel drive Touring Cars, radio control) and that takes a lot of time to maintain those little suckers.

So I haven't been motivated to thrash in my garage on my car like I used to.

And then there's this smog test issue...

Fiends,

You can remove the flex and manifold as one piece through the top of the engine bay. Just remove the fuel line canister and the other items as illustrated in the directions I sent to you. This is how we removed the stock manifold on our Focus and how I remove the header when we do testing. This is by far the easiest way.

This of course means you can assemble our header and flex pipe off the car, and drop it down onto the engine as one big piece. You dont want to mess around with installing the flex onto the header while the header is on the car. That is a big PITA.

When installing hte OEM header back on this past week, I found that lower passenger side nut the biggest PITA. I wound up using a deep socket, connected to a 3" extention, and a knuckle joint attached to my flex head driver. I took some pics of the setup it was so ghetto
