Definately go with the 2.5" You should see a small gain as Borla claims 7 hp with their exhaust, so the Tru-Bendz should be similar. The 2.25" is ever so slightly smaller than the stock piping and I cant imagine buying an after-market exhaust to stay the same size, let-alone go slightly smaller. 2.5" is a great size to go to unless you're going to make serious horsepower, but most likely you will not.

Wow, Borla claims 7HP? There is no way in hell that they picked up 7HP. Be careful of exhaust claims on the SVT Focus, guys. Sure are a lot of exaggerated numbers out there.

Yeah, but who knows? No one here has taken the time to do a before and after dyno.

any ideas how many hp u should gaine from a 2.5"?
None. We don't have an overly restrictive exhaust like most cars. So exhaust system upgrades aren't going to provide much, if any gains for us.

Buy an exhaust for the sound that you like, and don't even worry about the +1 vs +2 hp issue.

Yeah big corperations always seem to pull some over the top Hp numbers out there ass. It's called marketing.

I am the one that posted Borlas dyno, and if you look at their dyno, the stock SVT pulled 137ish whp on a dynojet!! That is 13 whp down from what stock SVT's are truly pulling. Then their exhaust brought it up to 143. Still well under the stock numbers. So the 7 whp is definately skeptical as their car was a preproduction car, and the dyno is not at all typical of what we have been seeing.

I personally upgraded (well upgraded might be the wrong word), to the Apexi exhaust which is 2.38" with flange connectors. And I think I lost a couple horsepower. But for the sound it's totally worth it to me. Either way, I would suggest picking an exhaust who's tone you like the most and whos quality you trust. Because gains will most likley be minimal.
