I'm actually surprised about that Todd. I live in a tiny little town in NE CT, and our roads were passable yesterday by about 4pm give or take, and decent today - only a few roads had snow left, but those were from neighboring towns (and that weren't on the priority list).

Just got a call / email that school here is closed tomorrow - due to residual effects of the storm and projected weather (freezing rain to rain) so there must still be roads that aren't deemed safe yet.

Stay safe everyone. Buy snow tires. The life you save might be mine.

We are only rolling on snow tires here.

I am also surprised that our street isn't done. There is a school directly across the street from my house, and while I haven't been motivated to explore, it seems that traffic is flowing okay on the street we live off of. This has never been an issue here before.

Here's my storm update. Will post some pics later.

Left work at noon, drove down to Pembroke to my friend's condo. About an hour drive and roads were just wet. Worked until 5 and then joined my buddy's snow crew (he heads winter ops for his landscaping company). Worked until about midnight shoveling out garages and walkways at a 50+ condo complex.

Go to drop one of the guys off at home, road blocked by trees. Turn around to go another way, also blocked. Go to leave to go back to my friends condo...tree feel behind us and blocked us in. End up getting a saw from a neighbor, cutting up the tree and pulling it out of the way. Get a bit further and two more trees had fallen, cut those up and get home. No power, but eat some chips and get to sleep. Wake up and trees down in the driveway, my car is blocked in by two large pines. Ended up losing a few trucks over the night while guys were plowing. Either blown hydraulics on the plows or trees fell on guys while they were driving.

Go back the next morning, finish up the complex. Go nonstop from 10am to 6pm. We had made 3 rounds the night before, for all 30 units there. Made one round Saturday, drifts up to 5' in front of half the garages and most walkways. Leave, get food and get to sleep around 10. Still no power. Wake up, dig my own car out and finally get back to my apartment around 1pm. Couldn't park in the driveway because it was barely shoveled. Parked .5miles away, walked back, and managed to move their 6' piles back and shovel the rest of the driveway out (whole thing can fit 9 or 10 cars). Finished around 6pm. Just finished showering for the first time since Thursday night.

I am moving when this lease is up and finding my own place alone.

I split my time between here and CT so it's ok. I could think of much worse things to deal with than having to shovel. If I was here yesterday it would have been done, but I was helping out a friend instead.
Yea seems like a lot of landscapers were shorthanded for this storm. I was offered some snow plowing/shoveling job by a customer that im doing a kitchen remodel for but had to decline due to family issues.

Everything ok? Text me.

And yea...Paul's normal crew quit mid day Saturday...while Anastasia and I were out there still. Unbelievable.

Fortunately we got our power back. We had been thinking about buying a generator for awhile and we definitely are buying one now. Even if its just big enough to power the heat/ refrigerator.

Sounds like you had a few crazy days. Talk about things not going your way lol. Theres a bunch of trees down here and the guys who plow our complex destroyed our new garage door.

If you were asking me I am in Cranston, RI

Hey guys, been a little bit since I visited as always, but to contribute to the thread.

It took me a whole day to clean our drive way, here are some pics of the mess.

And I went over to my neighbor across the ways, and helped him with his driveway and roof.

We got 33 inch's in all.

And yes the dates on the pics are off by a day, so add one day to each.
