Lots of awesome Ford news from the Frankfurt Auto Show this morning

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/15/embargo-9-15-09-5am-edt-ford-to-eventually-have-10-models-on-ne/

In addition to the two C-Max variants, the next Focus will be available as a four-dour sedan, three- and five-door hatchback and convertible. That still leaves a number of other possibilities that Ford hasn't announced yet, which means we'll probably be seeing some crossovers and perhaps even sports variants coming over the next few years.

Ford North America has confirmed that only the sedan and 5 door hatch will be offered in the US.

Ford only offered the sedan, wagon, and at the last minute they offered the 3 door as a "value" car in the US and built the cars over 2 plants...

The demand was high enough they later came out with the 5 door hatch.

If the demand is there I see no reason not to launch the other body styles as well.

Ford has done it before, and so have the other auto makers with their small cars. They launched with one or 2 body styles, only to offer more after 2 years.

I think they are expecting the GCmax to take the place of a wagon at first, or the new kuga/escape.
