I have an out of the box GT2871R and it holds 20PSI no problem with my Greddy Profec Type S...

Your talking about 2 totally different engines he has a zetec not a dura it will not make 396 on a zetec no where close

I bet randy knows ;)

From everything that I see those two engines respond very similarly. making very close to the same power with comparable setups.
 
I'm just saying if a 2871r can do 400 on a duratec you can do it on a zetec, its rated for 460 at the crank. We are not talking about a honda v-tec motor or anything.

hell orangesvt or whatever he is over here did 360whp on a turbo that is only rated for 360 Crank hp

Randy knows more about tuning a focus than, well... anyone but he is not re-writing the book on turbocharging

Well guys, I got the rpm signal hooked up on my Eboost2 today so if all else fails I will just adjust for the drop-off with the "rpm correction factor". Don't really want to start messing with that just yet though. Need to find the "real" culprit first.
 
turbo, if fj sucks so bad then don't bother "gracing" us with your presence anymore.

William, definitely find the issue first--might be something as simple as a loose vacuum connection (if you are using brass fittings maybe it isn't screwed in or sealed tightly enough). That'd help to explain the randomness of the problem.

Hey randy i dont really know you but ik you do some great work i would jus hate to see someone with a zetec get this turbo and be disapointed like islandfocus is. turbos are not cheap and the zetec engine doesnt have the best combustion chamber so it doesnt produce the same output that most engines do so when a turbo say rated at 370whp for our cars its like its rated at 320 or less depending on the trim and lb. per minute. thats all
 
ok cool i have never used garrett or the t28 style turbo i have right now the turbonetics GT-K 450 and love it so far but just so everyone knows what the good garrett turboes are could you post the part numbers for everyone else or if not they can just call you

I think the one I have is rated at about 400hp whereas the one that Randy those use is rated at about 460hp I believe. I actually ordered the one that FocusSport uses but Xios sent me this one by mistake and it was too much trouble to send it back. Nevertheless, I seriously doubt that it's the turbo because now I can't boost more than 5psi max. As I was doing a WOT test yesterday, it went up to about 15psi or so and then suddently dropped under 5psi. I will try to do a boost leak test by weekend to see what the deal is.

It won't go over 5psi? Have you inspected the turbo yet?
