As long as nobody got hurt I give this guy props. He had the balls to do what so many people only talk about doing. I admit its crazy but for some reason the fact that it happen to a dealership doesnt make it seem so wrong haha.

On a side note, that was, gramatically speaking, the worst news article I have ever read
I cannot believe the man that typed that has a job, especially a job in the media.

Well I must say if his experience was anything like my brief experience with Florida dealerships I can completely understand his reaction. Based on my experience with dealers between Tampa and Orlando, I find that most Florida dealers/ car salesmen are the most obnoxious, ****y, egotistical, money hungry, back stabbing, grimy, *******s I have ever come across! I felt like visiting a few dealers wile I was down there and I could not believe how horrible the salespeople were there.

I stopped at a Lincoln dealer since there are none near where I live and I wanted to take a look at the new zephyr in person. I literally got out of my car and had a person hounding me about trading in my car and financing which I told him I was not interested in. As I walked around the car he would not shut up about financing. I finally turned around and told him. “You know what, have a good day I am done listening to you” and walked off to my car. He then had the nerve to yell “well when you are ready to do business be sure to stop back in.”

No I don’t know if it was because I have an unconventional appearance for that part of Florida (I am pretty heavily tattooed, and have a Mohawk) and they though I was broke or an idiot or both but the treatment I got was horrible. I don’t care what kind of “deal” a place like that would offer, I would never do business with people like that.

The best treatment I actually got in a Florida dealer was at an Audi dealer. The salesperson greeted me politely and did not insult my intelligence. He did not put excess sales pressure on me and hounded me, and actually was helpful when I asked a question and answered truthfully. He wound up not having anything on the lot that I was looking for and admitted that, the other dealers in the area were determined to just talk me into what ever they had.

But yea if that is the kind of treatment you Floridians get when you try and buy a car I feel bad for you, and fully understand why this guy went psycho!

Oh other thing I noticed is Floridian used car dealers are sketchy as hell! Talk about a ridiculous mark up. Every signal dealer there was asking about $5000 more than any used car was worth, almost asking the same price as a new car! Plus some of the places mentioned interest rates to me, and the rates go so high they are not even legal in my home state!

If its the dealer I think it is, i've actually driven by it a couple of times... as a matter of fact, I thought my Dad was gonna be out of a job this morning when I opened this thread. Luckily it wasn't his dealer though.

The cars torched included the SUV that he had just purchased....so doesn't he still owe for that? I don't know if that's exactly what I'd do ...I'd maybe, say...not buy it or go somewhere else if I didn't like the price?

Crazy. What surprises me most is that it seems like what set him off was that the dealership wouldn't renegotiate a price on something he'd already signed. Now, if they'd refused to repair something for some stupid reason, or he found out his "new" Escape had 100,000 miles on it and the odometer had been reprogrammed, things might be a little bit more understandable.

Wow, some people are absolute idiots. If you're gonna destroy a Ford dealership because of how angry you are with them, PLEASE MOVE THE FORD GT FIRST :thumbdown:

The GT doesn't look "destroyed" in that picture. I imagine it'll be a hefty insurance claim, but not totalled.

Edit: Especially considering that one was totally flooded last summer in Cali, and it wasn't totalled either.
