Thinking of getting some H&R springs.

Since it says I have the "better than stock" shocks in my ST (but regular springs) I was wondering how much of a difference in handling these springs would provide?

I want the sport springs, not the race springs. Don't want the car too low & would like to retain some creature comfort

Also if you know where I can pick some up in Canada (unless the shipping is reasonable from the US) please let me know.

Cheers.

p.s.
One would require a spring compressor for this install I assume?
and I believe alignment job is necessary also after install, right?

Really? even with the sports springs??

hmm... it's only a 1.3" front & 1.4" rear drop.

So if I get those h&R sport springs, which shocks would you recommend then?

You posted that the stock shocks will go in 6-10k miles, even with the mild drop?

I dropped my first Focus (an S2, also equipped with "better than stock" dampers), with Eibach Pro-Kit Springs (which were advertised I believe to lower the car about the same as the H&R Sports) without changing the dampers, and my stock dampers were shot after about 8K miles.

I would recommend perhaps Eibach Pro-Kit dampers, or perhaps Spax (I don't have any experience with Spax myself).

Another option would be to get KYB AGX adjustables. Even though I don't beleive that they are shortened, people seem to be having good experiences with them so far in various lowered Focus applications.

I have the H&R sport springs with a set of SVT dampers on my ZX5.

I've put close to 15k miles already with no hint of the dampers going yet.

I put 20k on a set of SVT Intrax springs with the SVT dampers on my old focus with no sign of the dampers going. That was twice the drop and half again more spring rate.

I'd go with what you have now in then 2-3 years from now get some new dampers.

Cool. That's a little better news.

I wasn't going to announce it but I just bought them

The H&R springs are going to be my 1st mod. yey.

I'll let you know how I make out with those springs. They should be in my house by Friday. I will also post a pic of before / after.

Also, FocusSTGuy, could you post a pic of your headlights, I am curious what the blue laminate looks like.

Thanks.
