Went to a few ZX2 board to tell about the ZX2 turbo kit again and BAM i was greated by a P-51,Ducman69,Aerojim rolled into one

Ol the good old days when i first came in here all comes back to me

We are finished with kit and tuning and now ready to test with some ZX2 guys

The guy there Ian said he was coming here to tell all the Focus guys on me

By the way where is Ducman

WTF does that mean?

You stepped on your own dick here when YOU came in here, guns blazing about the Aerocharger not being a "real" turbo.

If you went in this new forum with the same attitude... no damn wonder.

Nobody had any problem with your products, you caught flack because of your attitude.

Tom, when are you going to get the zx2 turbo up on your site? ive got a friend thats lookin for a turbo and I told him yours was the best.

P-51 Calm down it was ment as a JOKE

You guys gave me a royla reaming over Injector size, injectors and mass air adding timing,,I ALLWAYS had to post a dyno sheet to prove the stock Zetec was doing the power it was doing because i was told at 200HP it would blow up

This is what i said

Other turbo kits
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is other turbo kits out there but the ZX2 guys just done want to step up into a good kit

I poster over 1.5 years ago about my kit and the focus guys love them and they MAKE POWER and keep daily driveability

Have a look at focus-power.com there is nothing listed there for the ZX2 but i have made a kit for the ZX2 back when i was making the ZX3 kit

I am now at 440HP at the wheels ,,back when i had 328HP i ran a 12.54 @ 116 MPH with full trim as the car cam from the factory will test the 440hp soon

The SVT kit that we have is doing 292HP and has a best pass of 13.400 @ 105.86 MPH

So there is other kits out there

Tom

I dont think that was to much attitude and a fair statement

The site is www.zx2ner.com

Huh, I have no idea who that is. But you're getting the same reception there as you did here, because you're doing there what you did here.

Do what you did, and you'll get what you got.

You went into a post set up by another vendor to talk about their product, and started promoting your product, and talking crap about others.

Tom got grief when he got here because he dared challenge those who had positioned themselves as the "experts" on turbocharging a Focus. If memory serves, the kit that everyone "questioned" is still around, making tons of power, and the "holy grail" that was flaunted as "reliable" and "easy to install" and "complete" was none of those, and also doesn't seem to be manufactured or supported by the manufacturer anymore. If you think the way Tom comes across is kinda "assholish", fine, but let's remember the WHOLE situation. Damn, Rob, I thought you had kinda chilled out, but I see you're still ready to scrap at a moments notice.

Why don't you come on down to VIR for the track day in November, and we can all hug and be buddies and quit all the "Focaljet fightin'". Hell, I'll even pay your entry fee. How about that? The Koni's work great, btw.

Find the posts you're referring to, I'd like to see them. I don't remember it going down that way at all. The problems arose because Tom jumped on the scene, guns blazing attacking all the established kits.

His first post was something to the effect of: "get yourself a REAL turbo, get rid of that aero-junk" He actually thought the aerocharger was some POS electric blower or something. It took a little while to convince him it was a real turbo, just with vanes instead of a wastegate.

And again Lacy, I think you're misinterpreting my intentions. I'm not trying to "scrap". Tom posted this... looking for sympathy... or for us to help him on the other board... I dunno. I'm just saying "What's the point?" It's like "Uh yeah, you're gonna get that reaction, that's just what happened here".

Its funny you mention that. I actually had two kids come up to my car at yesterday's autocross and ask me if I had that "New electric blower turbo kit".

I had no idea what they were talking about. But, just goes to show how internet rumors sometimes spread like wildfire and still exist in peoples minds years later. Stupid people will believe anything if you put it in writing on the internet wont they...

When and where did this happen? I'm curious, because the other day we were discussing why you couldn't seem to break 14's even with the obscene amount of horsepower you were putting to the wheels(Just not all to the ground

).
It's funny because someone said with the amount of hp you have now, you should be in the 12's, not the 14's. But, then it was brought up that you've been doing the "Just enough boost to beat the next guy", because you want people to "Have something to shoot for." the latter being your own words, if I remember correctly.
Anyways, just curious.

Now lets see here. SOme of you are doubting tom.. maybe his ability...and now his word? I have seen Toms car run in the 12's, and dyno at 436 fwhp. but hell, if you dont believe him why should you believe me? In my opinion, Tom's kit is THE MOST complete reilable kit on the market. I doubt anyone has put as much time and labor into producing a FOCUS (or escort) turbo kit as he has. (especially the engine management) I maybe have missed something but I just don't understand why everyone wants to bash on tom and his ability!

Tom's been in the 12's for a while now I believe.

It's still *my opinion* he'd sell more kits if he dropped the price some. I wish there was a SOLID < $3000.00, 200-225 whp kit. Maybe I don't know where to look. Not knocking Tom's kit, but I don't need 250+ hp in a FWD street car.

I'd like to add the stock Zetec WILL NOT TAKE more than 7 psi with stock internals and ECU. This is from the ZX2ner web site forum.

EastAl, you're thinking about the kid's SVT that Tom races for him...it hasn't seen 12s *yet*...Tom's been well below that in his own car for a while now

I have proof that prooves this theroy WRONG as do others.

I run stock internals and stock ECU with only the 5th injector

Don't worry Tom, I'm cool.

You can tell them I'm running 9psi, non-intercooled, on 93 octane, and running hard. So this idea that it can't take more than 7psi is rediculous.

I did see that post when I was there... but I just don't have time to get involved.

Over $5000 for a Turbo Kit to get maybe 200hp? For that much, you could buy a balanced and blueprinted, blown 5.0 right out of the crate. Prolly throw in some NO2 as well.

maybe 200hp?

the dyno's I've seen from Tom's kit on a stock zetec on 93 have been 230whp+

this thread has turned into the misinformed newbies takes shots at Tom thread

And for another $10,000.00, you could put it in a Focus!

And the car would still be worthless!
