Once I hit 75...paranoia of cops be kicking in and I would slow down...so I would never know my top speed. But I sure do know when my Governer (108 mph) kicks in!

BTW...Hawaii has sux0rs speed limit of 50-55.

focusparts.com claimed to be running 160mph with a z05 /w their turbo focus. They said they topped out 5th i think.

There used to be a video of a 98 zx2 smacking more like softly kissing 7400 rpms in 5th gear pretty much stock. I think it equaled out to 167mph. PS think Phord***

I hit 115 in my focus on a long straight way.

Testing my superchip out I never found a governer and I ran out of straight way before I cound go higher.

Like I need to travel that fast anyway.

 

Can hit 135 (220 km/h)fairly easy...Analog display cannot measure more and never tried my limits with the odometer trick...

I love Euro Foci's

(that come with no speed governor and 240 km/h rated tires stock...)

And I always get passed by a high-end Volvo, Mercedes or BMW

Need some higher grade tires and enough mods so that I get past 250 km/h barrier where un-modded BMW's hit the governor

I've hit 125 mph with my mods below. She was still going to but I caught up to traffic. I'll probably try it again soon as I will be driving that route on Friday and hope there is no traffic...oh yeah...or cops.

gosh..167 in a zx2?? how would you even know that it was doing that...the speedo in the s/r only went to 150. and on a normal one it only went to 120. man..that's amazing. i'm eyeing my zx2 now...hrmm..

Tom could probably get about that top speed if he had more room. We need some guys with lowered turbo wagon Foci with dish wheels.

 

I hit 142 in my stock 92 Eclipse GST, hit the stupid governor in my 2001 ZTS and haven't even tried in my 2002 ZX3.

 

How do you get 146.2 and stuff like that. The speedo only goes to 140.

HOw we know is the tachometer says so. the speedo is'nt the only way to calculate speed.

 

Ummmm ive pegged the speedo (~140mph) once or twice on stretches of open highway with the car still pulling quite nicely. I didnt really care to go much faster.

Cartest claims I should be good for about 155mph flat out. The Focus is gear limited to about 160-165mph I believe.

 

my govenor comes on at like 105 or 106, but is there a way to get that off ,or do i need a new chip for that?

 

130... @ 5-6k rpm so far SVT definitely has no governer.

Gotta find more room to let 6th run all the way out.

ummm NOOOOO... I was in mine hitting the gov. (113mph) and he flew by me...
and I know mine car if no gov there is alot of room to go faster cause in 5th I'm only at 5200rpm at 113mph red line for me is just over 7k without a chip.
