Are out there?

I bought my 2000 ZX3 in November 2000. It has 110,000 miles on her now.
I have replaced the ignition lock three times, revamed the key system once, replaced the starter, replaced the battery, replaced the disc pads twice, rotors once, rebuilt the tranny and installed a limited slip diff and some other bolt on goodies.
So far she still runs stong.

What about the rest of you original (new foci) owners?

I ordered my 2006 ZX3 SES in October of 05 and it arrived at the stealership late December 05.
It currently has 17,000 miles on it. I had to have one of the heated seat switches replaced cause it was sticking.
I have done some minor mods, mostly bolt on stuff so far.
Pic of when I got it.

Bought my brand spanking new Liquid Gray ZX3 April 2003. Missed the Cali PZEV by two weeks premature.
85,000 miles, two sets tires, 1 set rotors and pads, two trips to the body shop (not my fault), warranty replaced radio head unit, misc minor maintenance stuff, 16 oil and filter changes, Progress rear anti-roll bar, Eibach Pro Kit, Sirius. Sunroof and power window problems.
That's the exciting truth.

Got my car new (rents got it for me...) in March of 02. Just about 79k on the clock. Still runnin well. It's got its clicks, rattles, and random noises that Ford says are normal, but overall i'm fine with it until i get a job and can afford something a little nicer. :)

You know...

I'm going to toss my hat in even though I'm not an "original" owner.

I purchased my 2000 ZX3 in July of 2001 with 5,445 miles on the clock... looked new, smelled new, ran like new. I was going to buy new until I realized I could save $2-3k with a nearly new one.

I'm almost to 120k, and have pretty much replaced everything but the engine, though very little has failed. :D

Got mine new in July 02 with 35 miles on it. Now its got about 90k, a bunch of mods, some track time with a lot more to come, etc etc.
Edit: like omni I have a penchant for fixing things that aren't broken.

I even went through a 9 month phase where I had a mustang and the rents drove the fofo, I quickly tired of the mustang, it just wasn't as fun to drive even with the big v8 under the hood.

I had a 2000 sedan, with what I would consider minimal work for a car of its stature. Replaced the ignition cylinder, thermostat, timing belt, tires, brake pads and rotors, front right suspension components and rim after a minor disagreement with a curb. Traded it is last April for my 2007 SE w/SAP. Car goes in next week for the driver's heated seat not working (wire broke under seat), and trunk latch issues. I have done some of the audio: Pioneer Avic D3, Rockford P3 in a fiberglass box, Sony amp, back up cam, sirius direct link, bluetooth phone/audio direct link, and steering wheel interface. Command Start alarm/starter. Silverstar headlight and foglights (changing the fog lights to the yellow bulbs soon). Painted the mirror covers, and trim above the license plate. Plans for this summer: Steeda RAI, exaust, wheels/tires, and suspension. Debating tint...

2000 Ford Focus
Purchased September 9, 2000
Approximately 63,000 miles so far
Car still runs well but a/c isn't working
Went through the eleventybillion recalls
Obviously paid off
Thinks the problems for the car will finally start

I need to fix the a/c.

Ordered my '00 in Oct '99 and picked it up in December. Went through hell with all the recalls and disservice issues. It's at about 130k right now. The past year has been Fix Or Repair Daily, but I plan on keeping it to 200k! We've been through too much already.

The list of repairs won't fit on this page, but the SVT suspension still puts a smile on my face when driving it.

I ordered my 03 in February of 2003, I believe, and it was delivered on March 19th (just in time for my birthday on the 21st). I'm now at almost 91K and still love the car. The clutch, rotors and pads have been replaced and it was rebuilt after an accident.

I'm looking at a 2008 Focus to take over the daily driving and retain the 2003 as a toy. Its nearly gutted, has most of the major bolt ons and will soon have a second racing seat in it (for the wife).

Placed my order May 2000. Built in Hermosillo, Meh-hee-coe in June, took delivery in July from Joe Cotton Ford in Carol Stream, IL. Got it loaded except for side curtain airbags and ABS. Had the dealer install cruise control on my 5-speed before I drove it away. The main reason I joined [FJ] was to research how many cat-back exhaust systems there were available. I ended up with my 1st gen MBRP (it is still on the car to this day). The other reason I joined FocalJet was to try and find some 17" wheels with bolt pattern that fit. I eventually found some Enkei Inazumas (21lbs each, ugh). They served me well for five years. I was one of the first Foci to try both the Falken RT-215 and then the RT-615. Here's an insane picture of how a 225/45r17 raised the car about 1/2" (this was before my lowering springs and Konis):

Let's see, a list of parts failures:
1. Wiring Harness (dealer installed cruise control wrong) - this happened within a few months of newness.

2. I don't count rotors and pads since they're a wear item and I occasionally track the car and AutoX it monthly. I usually change them once per year.

3. Things I'm amazed haven't broke: throw-out bearing, wheel bearings, DPFE sensor, & MAF.

4. Three motor mounts replaced at 84,000 miles.

5. New downstream O2 sensor needed at 84,500 miles.

6. New high-flow catalytic converter 85,500 miles.

Mod list:

MBRP Catback
Energy Suspension bushings
H&R 24mm swaybars f&r
Steeda Springs
Koni Yellows (single adjustable)
Steeda ShortRam intake (I left on the stock snorkel that diverts air from the hood opening and curls under the battery. It points right at my filter.)
LCR race camber plates
Brembo sport slotted rotors
Hawk HP+ pads
Mintex rear shoes
SCT chip tuned by FS
Steeda short-throw shifter
Intermittent wiper switch
MSD Blaster coil
MSD 8.5mm wires
OZ Ultraleggera 15x7 race wheels 42mm offset (11.6 lbs each)
SVT Headlights
Random Technology high-flow cat (McNew's)
Focushacks.com foglight mod
(I'm probably missing something)

I change the oil religiously every three months with CastrolGTX 5w-30. I switched to high mileage Castrol at 75,000 miles.

Just recently only hit 86000 miles. One repair I currently need is a new A/C evaporator. I am waiting for my tax stimulus check to pay for the $800 job.

Here's some more recent pics:

The last pic is special to me. May 2005: It was not only the first event I ran after I had the springs/struts installed, it was the first time I won my class at an AutoX since I started in 1998 in a D Stock Neon. Not to mention the sweet Three Wheel Action !!!

Not quite sure what you mean by "Original" but... I got my first ZX3 in Jan 2000 and was part of the original Club Focus in December 1999.

I followed that up with a 2001 ZTS, then a 2001 ZX3 S2, 2003 ZTW, 2004 SE, and finally a 2006 ZX5 GFX.

I had a 00' ZTS. All loaded up leather and what not.

But then trany went at 32K and every interiour piece just started falling apart at 40K miles. I also had the tublers in the ignition switch go. Ended up having to have it towed 30 miles from were I was to a dealership. Then they wouldn't waranty it becouse it wasn't apart of the "ignition switch"? I still can't figure that one out. So I dumped it for a new 03' Ranger.

Now I have the ST

In November of 2001, after my first deployment I bought a 01 Power/Premium ZX-3, had the car until 2004 when my brother took over payments from me so I could get my SVTF. Sadly my brother no longer owns the ZX-3 his bitch of a wife made him sell it and get a mini-van:mad: .
