Re: How Pi**ed would you be?

Having said that, what happened to the RS above sucks big time. Of course the dealer will replace what's been taken and the car should be good as new. At least the thieves had the decency to place the weight of the car, which is now on the rotors and unclamped wheel studs, onto wood rather than the tarmac.

The 19" Continentals alone have to be quite expensive... I wonder what was taken from the interior... I still see seats and the window is broken.

yeh...i have seen much worse, using egg crates/tarmac/bricks etc.

eh, i wouldnt be mad like others had said...brand spankin new in no time, and the dealer gets to look at their security better...good all around no?

At least they left it on pallets.

Most people here just drop the car on the ground and leave it.

dave.
Thats what I was thinking.

There used to be "respect" among wheel thieves, they would at least leave things on blocks or something, anymore they just take them and drop it straight to the ground.

kudos to those guys for hauling 4 wooden pallets around

In Texas at least he would be protected and could simply "return" the vehicle, even if he had signed paperwork agreeing to buy it.

I would, as there are shards of glass that will rattle in the door and get in all the nooks and crannies, and just one of those that you miss is like the most wicked splinter that can and will go in deep at the right angle and be hard to dig out.

Not to mention that you have no idea what they did to jack it up or damage the studs and so forth.

Just order a new one, thats the dealership's problem.

In Maryland as long as you don't drive it off the lot with the temp tag on it you do not legally own the vehicle and can return it. Once you drive over the curb you own the thing.

That's exactly what they were after.

The "owner" has, at this time, indicated he does not want the car when repaired. I can understand his stance to a degree, but he will have to wait 9 months for another one in that case.

what an idiot. Everything that happened to it is easily fixable and has no lasting impact on the quality of the car. :screwy:

Side step this topic, a guy down the street from me lost the wheels off his Escalade the other night. It was left on bricks... not very well placed bricks.

Sucks. ****ing thieves.
