Oh no! Look what I got ;)

2007 GTI PKG1 DSG transmission. (it was slightly used, ~5k miles. Got a great deal :))

It has tint already fortunately, and the only thing I'm going to add to the stereo is an actual iPod adapter so I can control the ipod from the dash.

So eventual plans as of right now are simple. suspension via H&R ( most likely ) and an APR chip for a quick boost in power ;) should put it around 250hp / 285lb/ft if im not mistaken.

as far as what I paid.

I actually went to look at it 2 days ago, and the dealer wasnt going to give me very much on my trade in, so I just walked out. They called me back yesterday and gave me a much better offer. The Car itself was bought at $20,999 which was a good deal considering the KBB value is over $23k, I put my trade in as down payment, and as my Christmas / Birthday present my Father contributed a little as well, so Basically I'm only paying $250 a month AND I got the 100k warranty :)

I am a member at the vortex, I have been since 2003 when I had my passat. I don't like it much there.

Yes I did get the plaid interior and I love it.
Wise move. Only way to go. I wish I could get the plaid seats for my wagon, hell even for Chromie. Those are one set of seats I'd throw my Recaros out the window for.:screwy:

Ah, great to see you finally got your GTi Abram  I still adore those cars and would love to own a Candy White Pkg. 2 (I could settle for the plaid and Pkg. 1) someday :)

Nice choice and what a deal too! Needs more turbo back exhaust, and chip, and intake, then probably clutch lol.
It's a DSG; there're two clutches. :D

I would love to test drive one to see how it is
Driving the paddle-shifted (or the sequentially-operated center stick) DSG-equipped Mk. V is like driving the best racing sim. It's freaking awesome.

Stock, even; it is awesome. Add the simple mods you've listed and it takes the car to another level. I know from driving three Mk. Vs: two stock DSGs and one six-speed H-pattern manual that was conservatively chipped.

DSG is probably great, but not with the base Euro market diesel, at least from my experience. Had a MkV Golf so equipped as a rental for a couple weeks last summer when I was still living in Germany. The, "wait, almost ready, out for coffee" while upshifiting in lower gears during normal driving drove me crazy (but was nowhere near as bad as Smart's Soft Touch manumatic). Wouldn't mind trying one in GTI trim though.

Nice looking car and sounds like you got a good deal.
