You should always be wearing your seat belt. But I uderstand that sometimes, when you are going to the grocery store on the corner of your street, you do not want to be reminded to wear you seat belt. Anyways, here you go. To reactivate the seat belt reminder, just redo these steps in the same order.

There are 9 steps you need to follow to deactivate or activate your Belt Minder system. Before doing so, make sure that:

- The partking brake is set.
- The car is in Park(automatic), Neutral(manual).
- The ignition is OFF.
- All doors are closed.
- The driver's safety belt is un-buckled.
- The parking and headlights are OFF.
- Then follow these 9 steps:

1- Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START.
2- Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF (1min)

Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 60 seconds!

3- Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.
4- Turn on the headlights, turn off the headlights.
5- Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.

After step 5, the Safety Belt Warning Light will be turned on for 3 seconds.

Within 7 seconds of the safety belt warning light turning OFF, buckle then un-buckle the safety belt.
This will disable the Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable the Belt Minder if it is currently disabled.

Confirmation of the disabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds.
Confirmation of the enabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the safety belt light off, then followed by flashing the safety belt light 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
After confirmation, the deactivation/activation of the Belt Minder procedure is complete.

There you go,
it's easier than it seems.

Marc.

Please, how do I stop that thing from going off every 30 secs.

Is there a mod?? or should I just remove it??

I tried a search but no luck. I have today off so just tell me what I need to do.
Are you sure you did a search? Cuz I found what you need in just a few seconds...

After you disable the seatbelt warning chime described above, try this.

Stuff cotton in the tiny hole instead of removing the speaker, that way it's reversible in the future. The cotton will keep the speaker from vibrating and it will muffle the sound. You can still hear it but the sound isn't as loud.

Ozmotear, i think she'd look better w/o the seatbelts.

I always wear mine, i dont need to be reminded, esp when i am just listening to the radio while the car is running or i am just moving it around a lot (or at a show, or something where i'm going 2 mph) i hear this ding ding ding ding ding ding, which is annoying.

DO NOT UNPLUG IT
That plug under the seat connects to a whole bunch of stuff in the air bag system. There is a procedure in the owners manual to turn off the 'Belt-Minder' system.

The car behaves differently in an unscheduled dynamic event if you are belted or not. The car needs to know if you are belted.

If you don't have access to a manual, let me know and I'll hook you up with the procedure.
