well as much as i love the blue on the SVT i decided to go silver on mine. I fell in love with a picture that p25 took awhile back and i just couldnt change my mind after i saw it. congrats on your choice though.

Ahhhhh! I had a false sense of security all this time that I've had my SVT on order (since early August) on what color I wanted. Sonic Blue, no questions asked... until today that is. I finally saw a Silver one that was relatively cleaned and shiny and OH MY GOD. Now, I'm having a nervous breakdown because I've got to decide on what I want

P25, if there is definatly going to be a Silver SVT at HIN, then I can't wait for the picts!! I'm going to take a little boon doggle during lunch tomorrow to take a gander at the Silver again...

Yeah, its not really JUST black with regard to scratches, dirt, and getting hot in the summer. Its dark vs light colors in general.

There is a way out though... BRIGHT colors.

Lime, yellow, Infra-red... anything that reminds you of radioactivity haha! From the pictures, the blue is pretty 'bright' even though its not really that light.

If you are talking about this photo:

I'm not responsible for that one. Well I kind of am... That is one of SVT's PR photos. I begged and pleaded with a very nice person at SVT and one day later that showed up in my email box.

It will definitely be a silver SVT Focus at HIN in SD. I tried to go see it last weekend and get some advanced photos for everyone, but there was no one home at the place it was hiding.

Look forward to pics sometime next week though.

Talk as much as you want guys. The Sonic Blue is based on the Si's color (of course they wouldn't be the same). Just remeber what car Special Vehicle Team were after ...Do you know how many Si's were sold with the blue? More than the Red and Black combined! I'm sure the Focus will perform similar. I'm not saying the the Civic Si has better color than SVT, nor if it is a better car,(even though I would take one over a Focus ZX3 in no time) but let's just remember what car started the compact performance scene!

STARTED THE COMPACT PERFORMANCE SCENE!!!!!!? what the hell are you saying?! Lets try the Escort Cosworth! or even The RS200, what about the Nissan SE-R!? The SE-R is a pioneer of budget performance. The COSSIE was out before Honda ever even took their first piss! I am not saying Honda is not a pioneer in the market, because they definetly are. But give credit where it is due!
Oh yeah and FORD BLUE (true blue on other Ford models) Has been around WAY before Honda.

Uhhmmm...no! I'm talking about the Focus v. Si thing!! And if you want to be specific, it was acctually cars like the Golf/Rabbit/240Z/ among others that started the market, as we know it today. If there was no Civic, then today, there probably would not be a Focus!! SVT developed the SVT focus so it can compete with the Si. If so many people did not buy all those Civics, and Integras, then the "import market" would not support those cars because there would be no demand! And if there was no demand for parts, there would be a weak aftermarket. If there was no aftermarket for the Si, then WHY would SVT bring a car that no one was asking for! Honda is the "Title Holder of aftermarket" parts, thats why SVT gave us the SVT Focus...because of the Si!
You see what my point is now? Or do you not think that it's weird that the Focus has 170hp for $17,500 (160hp for $17,950 in the SI),exclusive blue color, and in the same market? I don't care if Yugo was the Father of aftermarket and compact scene! The Si, is what I will remember, the car that was responsible for the birth of the SVT Focus.

And for that, I must not hate the Si!

And one more thing CositsWort...We're talking about USA, not Europe!

(..If we had a Cosworth Escort, then there would be no need for a SVT Focus)

I see your point and I agree with you as far as the US is concerned. But other than over here, i.e. across the pond...its all Cossie and VW's that fathered the trend that eventually came around to us. Actually this trend came to us in the late 80's and early 90's but no one listened.
I am glad the way things have worked out

And it is kinda sad that we are talkin about Civics..I lived in Stuttgart,Geramany. And I just loved seing cars as Calibra, Polo, Golf, Coupe Turbo, I those cars! I'm guessing you saw Manta, Manta? I allways wanted to tune cars, but when I came here..I just grabbed what they had to offer. And it was not much. I am really sorry that we have to mod 130hp Civics and Foci, Even 160hp Si's and 170hp SVT Foci..when in my homeland everybody is having better (almost better, I'm not counting Big BLock Chevys and Camaros). But maybe We will come to our senses, and Ford brings the Cosworth powered AWD Turbo Focus. For me..it was definetly the early 90's Golf that turned my mind into the "I got to tune it, I got to race it" thing. I just wish I had a Calibra here...insted of a Civic.

Back to the topic at hand... color... I am sticking true to my initial thoughts of silver exterior - no question.

Interior though... after seeing the blue at the auto show and having seen the red previously I think I am changing my order from blue to red. The blue is very bright and the red is quite a bit darker. Now that I've seen both I think both look good (although if an all black interior was offered I would be all over it) but it comes down to what I think I can better tolerate long term...

3 great colors to choose from, whew. I started with blue and blue, saw enought photos to feel it was a little too dark, switched my order to silver with red, Intill I saw the awesome photos of the red svt at the focaljet article. Wow it looks hot! Been a week now and still there. By the way I woudn't accept any color but yellow on my ZX3. Never considered black. Red Rockets.

took me .01 miliseconds to decide: Blue and blue.
That shade of blue is my favorite color in the world: perfect, not too light, not too dark, not to greyed-out (periwinkle) just perfect.

one more month!

Silver all the way baby.

Anyone have the paint code for the Sonic Blue?
Image

I might not be able to afford the Focus, but since I am getting a new paint job on the Tempo basically free, I might as well get a good blue color.

I just realized I'm going to get my SVT before most of you. The factory's going to run out of blue and silver paint, leaving them nothing to do but paint cars RED. or black. Again, make mine RED.
