Today was a GREAT Miserable day!
SOAKED feet, 30-something degrees, Pouring rain caused a torrentially soaked track.
Not ONLY did I take my first points-paying STS win, BUT I ALSO WON the Overall PAX!!!!
I beat ALL of our Regional Pro's! (Except for one, who didn't come out due to the rain...
Image
)
I beat Multi-Time G-Stock National Champion Robert Carpenter!! (He ran a CSP Miata today...
Image
)
I beat a Divisional top-runner who was running in a Subie 2.5 RS.

I am ELATED!!!!!!

Damn, you da man. It's pretty awesome when a FSP indexed street tire'd Focus gets fast time.

I'm in STS.
I don't know the FSP index.
Is it the same as STS?

What locations does ETR use these days?

About 15 years ago, I was winning DSP in my MGB at Karns HS in the rain but once it cleared up, everyone's last run of the day beat me.

Glad you won though!

Today was at Oak Ridge Mall.
Karns is no longer remotely useable for a variety of reasons from Pavement to Politics.
We run at the new Smokies Stadium at Exit 407, O.R., Meco Industrial Park in Greenville, William Blount H.S., and Way the FFF up at Elizabethton H.S...
We were going to run up at LMU, but insurance concerns squashed that.

We are ALWAYS Looking for pavement.
Check in at ETRSCCA.org .

Oh my bad, I'm used to the other club I have ran the past two events where PAX value for the Focus was FSP. At SCCA, your right, its is STS. I think they are pretty close though.

Rain is the great equalizer; shows who can DRIVE much more so that who has the fastest car

Did you run on the 215/45-16 Azenis?

It's cool that you guys are running more eastward for those in the tri-cities. I lived in Kingsport and had to make the trek to Knoxville for Autox. Made for very early Sunday mornings.

Don't remember a Colt, but that CRX sounds familiar. I thrashed my old Audi 5000 (pre-aero car) back then. Started using an MGB a little later.

Thompson used to run that Fiero V6 and then the MR2 Turbo, right? He lived up in Kingsport, my old hometown.

Up here we have Western Washington Sports Car Council, www.wwscc.com. The classes are different than SCCA's. The class most Focuses run in is called ST2 or Street Tire 2. Many a car can run in this class, STI, WRX, 2.5 RS, Focus, Miata, Talon, Civic, Calais, Scirocco, the list goes on. It's a lot like STS except every cars time is indexed by their street prepared code. FSP has the best PAX value but lately we have been getting smoked by the Subarus.

WWSCC runs over 10 events, SCCA runs over 10 events, BSCC runs over 10 events, its awesome up here.
