Wwll yesterday I received my Pro-M MAFS from silverhaze18 in the mail. I removed my old OE MAFS on my CAI and installed the new Pro-M. I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnected it. I starded up the car and lost of black smoke emitted from the tailpipe. (non-burnt fuel) It has a very low idle and almost dies at times. So I went and swapped the CAI and put the short ram back on. Well, the same thing happened. No difference. I took my t-body off to see if there were any clogs or something had fallen down the intake. Nothing that was visible. So I disconnected battery again for about 30 mins and I re-installed the OE MAFS. Well the car still did the same thing after the PCM was reset. The CEL came on. So as a test to see if anything changed, while the car was running I disconnected the MAFS plug, no change in the car's reaction, then I reconnected that, and disconnected the TPS, no change either. Then I disconnected both the MAFS and TPS. Still no change. So today I took the wife's car to work and I will find out what the CEL code is. It baffles me really. Should I leave the battery disconnected longer and hope everything resets? Is there a master reset button/relay/fuse that I can pull to reset the PCM back to default settings?

Any input is appreciated!

That's what I had figured but when I re-installed the factory MAFS it did the same thing. I reset the battery both times. I have put the factory and the Pro-M MAFS's on the CAI and then I tried the factory and the Pro-M MAFS's on the Shorty and the vehicle never changed. It's really confusing.

The car ran perfectly before the Pro-M swap. I called McNews and spoke to Nick. He ran the #'s on the Pro-M and the MAFs is calibrated for stock 19lb injectors. I very lightly sprayed both, the male and female sides of the TPS and MAFS connections, with electrical parts cleaner to make sure that there were no poor connections.

My Pro-M was working fine for months, then one day it started doing a lot of that - rough running, no power, etc. Took it off and sent it back to Pro-M and they told me they tested it and it was fine, so I put it on and it still didn't work. I sent it back again for them to recheck, and they said it was fine...got it back, same thing, so I sold it on eBay.

Note that Pro-M's old website no longer works, and I believe they are now out of business.

I heard they are out of business but there are guys from there that are starting up another business i think it is called mass air systems. But not sure if they are going to be able to help all of the people that have the pro-m setups. I heard the will be using the hitachi units.
Don't know the full details.

Was it your unit that I bought? I bought one from e-bay that did the same.
