Hey all, I wanted this to be in a visible location so people will spot this.

As of June 30th I will no longer be working at Tousley as a full time employee.

I've been hired on doing sales and support for the Microcat parts catalog system so I will no longer be on phones at Tousley.

I've truly enjoyed working with and helping all you guys, I love the community here and I consider a lot of you as very good friends.

That said I will still be here to help you guys get the right parts at the right prices, we'll just have to handle things a bit differently.

I'll have the ability to log into the Tousley invoicing system and enter quotes and invoices and all you'll have to do is call in to Tousley with the quote or invoice number and give someone there your card info and they'll finish it off.

This might take a little fine tuning and I hope to keep the high standard of customer service that I've worked so hard for in place.

So long story short, I'm moving on in a way but I'll still be here to help.

Congrats on the promotion, Steve  It's definitely been a blast buying things from you over the years, and it's strange that this is happening at the same time as I'm leaving the Focus world

I'll be doing sales and customer relations/support for the company that produces the parts catalog system I've used for the last seven years so I'll be dealing with a system I'm very familar with and I've got the advantage of years in a dealership so I'll be able to relate to the guys I'm selling to quite well.

Trust me it was a tough choice and any career change is always nerve wracking but I think it'll be for the best.

You won't be left out in the cold either, I know a lot of people have come to depend on me and it can still be to everyones advantage for me to help out on my own time in the future.

Once things get all set all you'll have to do is call Tousley and give the guys there your card info and they'll ship the parts we've already set up here on the site.

It might take a little tweaking to make the system work just right but it should still work. :)

Good to hear mate, you deserve this and more. So when are you going to get on a chat medium since you won't be on a lockered down machine anymore? :p

SVT,
Henceforth you did not inform the committee of your actions. As such any decisions you have made to date will be retroactively nullified.

Please get to work sell Ford parts.

OK, seriously, congradulations! Show us some parts of what you will be selling!

To be honest this is going to take some effort figuring everything out.

Working from home during the school year isn't really an issue but during summer break it could be interesting with kids 3, 8 and 10 driving each other nuts all day.

The new company seems to be really well run and the parent company Infosystems is Australian based so I'll be starting out with four weeks PTO as opposed to the two weeks I've accrued over my nearly nine years where I am now.

I guess one nice thing will be that I can work from anyplace that has internet service so I could be sitting at Caribou having a Moosed Mocha or I could be sitting in the loft at my mothers townhouse or in my own home office if the rugrats can be controlled.

Thanks for all the kind words as well, it means a lot. I've told Ron repeatedly that I consider the Jet my online home and it truly is the finest community I've been involved with.

You guys are the best!

tear for sure. The last time I ordered parts I talked to someone else and got more parts than I wanted  no big deal though. You just know your stuff. The number 1 reason I ordered from Tousley as much as I have. The prices were #2

That's what I told Steve on Thursday. I could get the right parts from Steve faster and cheaper than I could get them from any of my local dealers. You obviously know the system, so its cool to hear that you're going to get a chance to work on it.

I'm happy for you. You seem to do a great job and I always had my parts quickly and never had a problem. Seemed like you had more potential than parts. Hope this job works out for you well. I work out of home and most of the time, it rocks.

WTHeck?! I felt cool saying I knew had an inside "connection" at Tousely Ford. I believe that all the Ford dealers within Central WI actually use Tousely as their #1 parts supplier and to have Steve leave really sucks.

Well good luck with your new job Steve and thanks for so much support and love for the Focus world.

Congrats on the Promotion Steve.

I'm not trying to steal any business from Tousley Ford, but just so everyone knows, my Dad is the Parts Manager at Moon Township Ford, near Pittsburgh. I've also had him help a lot of people here on this Forum with Ignition Cylinders, and tons of other parts at the same deal that Steve is giving. Just throwing that out there as another resource for you guys to use. If someone needs something, I can put you in contact with him, he's VERY knowledgeable and he's been the Parts Manager there for over 25 years.

I felt a little twinge of dread when I read the title.. good luck Steve, and thank you for all the effort you've put in on behalf of many of us on FJ here.
