My check engine light came on a couple of days ago and then it went away, it comes on again this morning again and goes away when I start driving. I take it into FORD and they say that the key from my 03 and the key from my 02 are causing the light to come on. Something about the chips in the keys is to blame. Anyone ever have a problem like this??

Don't let the other key hang down by the steering column; hold it in your hand (had the same problem with my F150 key interfering with my focus). This should solve the problem. P/S, if the car starts OK this probably is not your problem anyway. If there was interference from the other key the theft light should flash rapidly and the car should not start. Mine never did cause the check engine light to come on.

PATS will have NOTHING to do with your CEL,If it was a key problem the theft light would flash rapidly.

Sounds like the dealer blowing smoke up your ass...
Wrong, the PATS system can and will cause a CEL if conditions permit.
