anyone have the koni sport kit on an svt? curious to see how it looks seeing as how it only drops about 3/4 inch.

also, anyone happen to know the spring rates for them?

and is the adjustment procedure straight forward (pop the trunk, turn the knob; pop the hood, turn the knob)

thanks in advance

As far as how it will look on an SVT, I'd say it'll look like just about any other Focus with a ~1.5 inch drop (or SVT with 1.5" drop springs).

So it'll look like any Focus with say, the Eibach Pro-Kit, APEX 1.6 Kit, H&R Sport Kit, etc.

As far as adjustment goes, it is pretty straightforward. Konis (besides the old style first-run or so ones) are adjusted via rotation at the top of the unit.

To my knowledge, no one knows the spring rates, which sucks. I don't believe anyone has been able to get it out of the powers-that-be at Koni (same problem that us H&R Cup Kit owners have...).

Search this forum for a member with the name hEaT. He has this kit, and I believe he posted some pics. Its not an SVT, but he has a set of the gold euro wheels. Should give you an idea.

Koni will not divulge thier spring rates for this setup.

The strut adjustment is like any other koni adjustable. Hood: put on knob and turn. Hatch: Cut hole in interior carpet, put on knob, turn.

I was going to get this setup for my SVT until I found out that it does not lower the car as much as some sponsors website claims. Once claims 1.6in (40.1mm) another a max of 45mm (1.8in).
If you go to koni's website it tells you the front drop is 35mm (1.4in) and the rear drop is 40mm (1.6in). Total lowering on the SVT would only be about 10mm (.4in).
I would tend to trust the manufacturers website. I have seen the kit in person and the drop is not as much as listed on some sponsors websites.

With all due respect, sir, your ride height math may be flawed regarding the installation of a (n) approxiamtely 1.5 inch drop ZX3 Focus spring on a SVT... then again, you do own an SVT and may be basing your claim from actual measurements from your own car. Who knows.

According to Ford Racing Performance Parts, the SVT Suspension Kit (not the car) lowers a ZX3 .5 inch. If these are the identical springs used an an SVT Focus, then a 1.5 inch lowering spring will drop an SVT Focus about an inch, not +/- .4 inch.

hEaTs, car was a little lower than my stock SVT suspension, but not by too much.

I am not bashing anything about this kit. It is really nice, but it may not turn out as low as you would like.

I think my math was ok...I tried to round to the nearest tenth. :dunno:

Yeah, it wasn't as low as I liked considering New Edge said 1.6" which is definitely is not. The front's not bad, but the rear could do another inch easy. Maybe do H&R race springs in the rear with the Koni's in front?

I think that could upset the ride a bit. Unknown spring rates in the front and 375 lbs in the rear....if you are going to do that, just run HR race springs...
