Zetec or duratec build?

 

Duratec. I believe all internals are interchangeable since they were still a 4F27E
The only difference is the bell housing

 

The input shaft is different as well. And since the bellhousing can’t be swapped. It makes it a duratec or zetec trans unless you want to just swap the guts over to a different case

 

thats what i was getting at. the core things they upgraded to make this trans strong can be moved from one trans to another so you can swap to a zetec to housing if needed

 

I think the ultimate implication is that a prospective buyer would be best informed if it’s a Zetec or Duratec since it can’t easily bolt up to one or the other right away...

Either way, GLWS. Great find for anyone with a project mk1.
