It keeps ticking after the engine is shut off (and the accessory belt is no longer turning)?

Does it tick when the car is idleing, and not in motion? Because if not it could be a wheel bearing...

probably the tensioner... thats what mine did untill it made more of a dieing bearing sound, i would replace it anyway it's cheap and easy to do, otherwise you might find yourself sitting on the side of the road

Pop the hood and let the engine idle. You should be able to track the noise down with the unaided ear. If you need help pinpointing it, use a mechanics stethescope.

i just found out that my power steering reservoir is totally empty....i'm gonna fillthat to see if that was what caused the ticking...probably not, but hopefully yes, haha..

if the power steering pump is cavitating, it will cause plenty of noise. Thats probablly it.

does anyone know if this could be water related? Because ever since it rained from Hurricane Wilma and i drove through a few puddles my car is doing the same thing. I thought it was an oil problem...like my car is low on oil but it cant be because i just did the oil change and i dont have any leaks but once my car warms up i am getting the oil light!?

well i found that my loud clicking is coming from under the contour valve cover that i recently put on! Oh well i dont know what to do because i dont have any oil leaks.

If your oil light is coming up, you've got some oil pressure issues. Was this happening when the Focus valve cover was on?

No it was not...this all started when i put the contour cover on!

ok well i finally got the new dipstick i ordered and the first thing i did was go check the oil and it was above full...could this be my problem? BTW i know in general it is a problem...but could that have been turning the oil light on?
