I seem to recall Igor posting that the 3.7 didn't fit in the Fusion.

 

Thank God they didn't give it a flat face like the Camry or Accord!

That has lines that are actually pleasing to the eye and don't make you stop and go WTF?!?!

 

I wonder if they have any AWD options in the pipeline.... Even pairing that 3.7L V6, which is what, good for 250+HP, with AWD would be pretty cool.

i really like this design....def puts the camry and the accord to shame (IMO)

 

I actually like the old body style better. This one just doesn't look right to me, and I am not sure why. The fender arches in the front look too much like the RX8, which is fine for the RX8, but look like an aftertought on the 6. The proportions of the front wheel wells looks to massive compared to the rears. The lower front bumper looks very pedestrian, and not as aggressive as the older one. I could go either way on the headlights. They are not bad, but I always thought the current 6 has some of the best looking headlights around. Overall, it is still a clean design, and not nearly as busy or overdone like that vast majority of cars. It is almost impossible for me to like a refresh to a car. It always seems like the designers get it right the first time, and the next team ruins it trying to make it different. Sometimes, things are good the way they are.

 

A six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode will be available for the I4 engine. The V6 will be coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode. The North American Mazda 6 will be available only as a four-door sedan.

I don't doubt this car will be good, and will be more fun to drive than pretty much all of its competition, but I think Mazda has aimed it to appeal more to average American's, both in "prettier" styling, and in offering less options/formats. I have a hard time picturing this car racing around a track in the Speed World Challenge Touring Car races. Maybe that's good for their sales targets, but maybe not so much for their Zoom-Zoom image and focus.

Is this true? So they aren't offering the "hatchback" or wagon anymore? That stinks if so.

I liked the idea of a 5 door nut in this country it's not a big deal for people, otherwise you'd see a 5 door accord and camry along with altima.

Unfortunately I am in the 1% that wanted a hatch/wagon. Trying to find one with V6 and a manual was hard as hell. Its getting tough to find cars I like that arent made by the Germans.

 

It is going to be nice. Cant wait till the dealers mark them down to 14-15k like the current 6. Cause it will be a car I MAY consider if the price is right and I get over my anti mazda thing.

I like it. Did not have a chance to see the rear of the car yet. I hope the lights arent as screwy as the Japan version.

The 3.5L fits no problem, its in the MKZ already. I don't think the 3.7 all that much lager psychically over the 3.5

 

Very nice, almost Lexus esque.

 

I do like the look of it although a bit more "mature" looking perhaps to expand the demographic base but it did lose some of that sportiness of the previous generation Mazda6.

No doubt it will sell extremely well for Mazda though.
