Re: naughty VW pics
Wow this got heated up...
Really I don't understand why so many people get pissed over this...Its just a form of someone elses style. I've never seen someone go into someone's track car build thread and piss and moan over someones autoX balloon tires being to big for the wheels. Atleast they have enough respect to stay away and not dump all over the thread. I'd expect the same from the other side of the arguement...but I guess not...
I actually laughed when I read this, just because someone does'nt race or speed thru mountain roads they are not an enthusiast of automobiles. A BIG part of this culture is spirited driving, be it on roads or tracks. But another LARGE portion is show vehicles. And well, another part is just some people wanting something for a daily driver and modding it with what skills and time they have. Thats where alot of the 'VW' culture gets is style...Maybe you don't like it, but atleast the owner loves it and keeps this whole hobby of ours moving and progressing.
And truthfully, if you think slamming a car on 'too wide' wheels, and under-sized tires is just a VW thing, you have no idea...Its a form of style, no different then rice, no different then motorsport inspired cars. This whole 'fad' is not leaving, so get used to it...
One more thing...just because the car is slammed and has wide wheels has no reflection on its peformance...
Local guy Mike, 340hp GTi...
And that goes for alot of VW cars...you'd be suprised how many of these cars you see have Forced Induction or ITB's...
But whatever...I'm done...back to more VW's....
