Strangest thing... had a dream last night of being on the freeway - and the road started burning in front and behind us. Cops had stopped traffic all around. We were in a car crash with a semi truck and didn't know we were dead. Reminds me alot of that picture... and it was night time.

Did ANYONE survive?

That was here in South Florida just 2 days ago. 3 people died and i think 4 seriously injured. Weird thing is that almost everybody involved in the accident were Walmart Employees. The Beetle was completely gone and we couldn't even recognize it at work until the cops told us what car it was.

Amazing how ignorant that one girl was saying that she is glad she didn't get a new beetle in favor of her Jetta

HELLO! An Excursion or an H2 would have ended up the same way. You just can't fight 80,000 lbs of moving metal will dessimate anything! Especially when its 4 tractor trailors.

WOW! that's pretty scary!
It said on theother forum that trailors can be loaded upto 90,000 pounds.. just wanted to point it out here that (at least in my experience) most trailers are limited to 45,000 pounds or so (and many full sized ones we use less). Even still, there is no way any car could have survived that. now I know why I'm scared driving next to semis
so sad

Supposedly it was a chain reaction rear end accident. There was some kind of smaller accident or Incident ahead and one truck slowed down or stopped than the other three along with the beetle slammed into it. Thats the story we got on the local news.

ya,,,round here the trucks gross wieght cant be over 80000 lbs. so i dont think anything coulda stopped a 240000 lb collision. well maybe a train, it would be kinda close though

That is both scary and sad. I really don't like being near tractor-trailers on the highway. They scare the hell out of me. Especially when I am either between two, or on the side of one with nothing but a concrete barriere on the other.
I hate being anywhere near them also. Last year I got pulled over doing 80 while passing a tractor-trailer. I told the officer that I usually speed up so I'm next to them for as short a time as possible (which is true). He took one look at the size of my car and agreed that its not that bad of an idea. Wrote me a ticket for 72 in a 65. PA State Troopers are usually nice guys if you're nice to them.

The first trailer was not paying attention and hit his brakes and locked em up and the thing went sidways then the bug hit the front end at 85MPH and the other truck behind the bug anihalated the bug and the other truck and the pther 2 trucks hit the second trucks trailer and obliteraed anything that could have be left of the bug and my friend
