I went ahead and threw a 3' waterproof LED strip from Oznium in the lower part of my grille so I could light it up while I am driving at night. I think it looks great and I have never seen anyone else do this. Let me know what you think.

not sure it is legal?
Did a little research and found that as long as it's not blue or red and the lights are not visible then you should be okay. Crossing my fingers every time I pass a cop.

Its legal till you're caught with it. Nice, never seen that before which is sweet. Double the originality points on it.

I'd like to see it with the parking lights or headlights on...I like the concept and I think it's actually kinda funny/cool that the lower grill posts will make it look like an angry set of teeth. In terms of legality you should be fine when you turn on the headlights.

I remember when the Mercury Sable used to do something similar... Some night shots, with the other lighting should give a better impression. I had purple in the upper and lower grill on my 97 f-150 (red).
I'll take some more pics with the lights on tonight when I get home from work.

I am thinking of doing this with my 08. Ease of install?
It was pretty easy. If you feel on the lower part of your front facia, there is a little lip. I just dropped the LEDs through the front right of the engine bay to the ground and then grabbed them, pulled it all onto the facia to check length and stuck them (with provided 3M tape) right under that lip so the light would be cast backwards at the radiator. A 3' strip will be about 6 inches too long. You could probably get away with a 2' section (and save yourself $13). If you need any more information, i will be happy to help (although it was on an '07). It was really fun!

Oh, almost forgot. If you look at your pedals from the drivers side, behind them on the firewall there should be a little oval of plastic that you can drill through and it will take you right into the engine bay so you can run the wires from outside to your fuse box (and switch). It may be covered with a little flap of carpet. Root around and you should find it.

Looks like your car got ahold of some whitening toothpaste.

LEDs are definitely going on my to-do list for the spring. I had a blue neon light in the same place on my car, and got pulled over the first day I had it in there. The cop said that you can only have white and amber lights on the front of your car, so you should be alright with that.

i had a pair of white CCFL tubes in the upper grille for about a week before the transformer went out from heat and moisture(i did this in late winter a few years ago).

i'd like to put a pair of red LED flex strips in the front edge of the rear wheel wells, and orange/amber ones at the front edge of the front wheel wells.
any exterior mods i have done or plan on doing i ask local officers about but i only get textbook responses. it seems it will depend on the modd of the officer that night.
