Hey guys, just picked this thing up today. 2000 ZX3 with a 5-speed. It's my daily driver as I own a done-up Ranger that will be stored during the winter months.

Here's some pics.

Here it is beside my truck, I'll post up some pictures of the truck when it's actually clean.

I'm going to keep the Focus stock as I clearly have no self control when it comes to modifying vehicles. Once I start I can't stop so I'm not going to even get into it. Let me know what you think.

Very clean...both your Ranger and your Focus.

Welcome to FJ. There are quite a few Canucks on here...usually in hiding. I'm rarely out that way...I'm usually either west of TO or in the core.

PS> As a result of the pics, I'm going to move this to Team Rigz :)

I love the ranger man, I had one before my focus and ended up selling it because I have no self control either...now my focus, which was my daily driver, is now my project. Oh well, lol...there are several things you can do to the car for little to no money to make it drive and look quite a bit better, so get to it [read: nightshade spray tint for front turn signals and taillights, cut stock shifter down if its a manual, fog light relay mod, shorten antenna, shave emblems, swiss-cheese airbox, lunch box delete, etc.]--PM me if you want to know how to do any of the not-so-obvious stuff :) and welcome to FJ!

Within a few weeks you'll start adding some mods to the Focus. You won't be able to resist.

sick ass truck!!!!!! do you roll up to Lightnings and blast past them? and look at thier faces in the rear view and they are like :what: "a ranger really" and your like  " hell yes!!!" clean looking foci too.....if you go crazy on mods just go for the minor ones sri/cai catback done and done....you dont need to prove anything due to your truck so just get some nice sound out of the focus.......nice duo bro...welcome to the jet!

Haha, thanks guys. As for blowing by lightnings, not quite yet. When I get the blower on I should be able to hang with them though.

Like I said earlier on, I really don't want to modify it. Once I start I know I won't be able to stop and I'll need yet another winter car.

It looks like it says ZX5 in the picture but it does say ZX3. Camera's can do funny things.

As for my truck heres some pictures of it when it's all clean.

Nope, it's got a built 4.0L out of an Explorer with a re-geared transmission. Plus I've got a Vortech V-1 S-Trim supercharger waiting to go on it this Winter.

Thanks for the compliment!
why would you take the 4.0l out of an explorer. isnt the ranger 4.0 the same. or was it a 2.3 or 3.0 to start wiht?

what you build the engine with? like where did you get parts?

It was likely a 3.0L as most of the flareside Rangers I've seen are 3.0L Automatics. The 4.0L trucks were usually the 4x4 trucks like the XLTs. The 4.0L with the 5-Speed were all in the stripped versions of the XLT like mine. But of course I might be wrong so maybe he'll correct me about his particular truck.

Speaking of which, it is SUPERB! That has to be the cleanest and most tastefully modded Ranger I've seen to date, that color works perfectly with the slight boxiness of the Ranger. Is that Midnight Red? It look alot like the Midnight Red color Ford offered on the Contour, almost black, with a gold/red metallic flake in it, almost appears black at night, but in the sun can look burgandy, and an indian red in normal light. I love it! The only thing I would do to that truck would be to tint the tail lights so the red matches the paint closer, like maybe a single pass with some niteshades.

In any case, magnificent!

Yeah, it was a 3.0L 5-speed to begin with. Again, thanks for all the compliments I have literally rebuilt the truck from the frame up. I learned a big lesson about buying used vehicles. As for performance parts for the 4.0L their are a few sites out there. Supersix Motorsports, Tom Morana Racing, are probably the most known.

The paint is custom it's Dupont Black cherry with a copper pearl mixed in. That's why it's changing colours. At night you'd think it's black and when the sunlight hits it direct its a bright copper.
