600 bucks for a pair of adaptive HID headlights isn't bad at all. Seeing as how you are paying 800 or so for non-adaptive headlights. And aren't the HID's already made by hella? Or was it just the projectors. Anyways, you save yourself a couple hundred bucks for headlights that will cost you alot more on a brand new car.

the SVT/Mach HIDs are produced by Hella, or atleast the projectors and the setup is but it's probably the entire lite...

So is it possible to get the HID option WITH the Dynabeam, or is the Dynabeam only available with the halogens?

yeh that was the debate with the last thread...i sent 2 emails with no replies on if the HID system could be used with the DynaBeam.

(would have thought they would have released it with HID to begin with, so i am skeptic) It may be only designed for halogen...or maybe they just wanted to keep the price down, especially with the current price of the halogen setup.

Interesting...I like 'em  Especially that headlight cleaning system...

Price is also reasonable, considering you get Hella's reputation and quality. To those who balk at the cost: Suck it up. People can easily drop a few hundred or thousand on body kits, wheels, suspension, etc. Budget accordingly and make better driving visibility a priority, and you too can have these alternative lights :)

HMM could ya use the projector from the Mach HID's in the dyna-beam housing ????
Maybe hella could make up a set .... that would be cool...

LOL then I have the 6500hz. 90 watt bulbs in the highs... can ya say I SEE EVRYTHING..... plus I did the st170 low /mod.....
but these would be cool....

you wouldn't need to...the HELLA lenses should be able to hold a HID output.

...and about the ST170s, go for it. Have been wanting someone to undertake it and someone has already pondered it in one of the threads. I would love to see it, very MINI esque (especially if the lense is kept around it with a city light)

just dont have the balls to cut into my expensive ST170s. I have 200bucks in my account after paying tution and a new semester starting. HELL NA!

The HID Dyna Beams havea projector lens.

The innovative Upgrade Headlamp for retro-fitting is the first of its kind and automatically illuminates the curve as bright as day. The bi-halogen system produces dipped and main-beam light from a single source of light and although the entire unit swivels into the curve, the near-side headlamp moves through a larger arc than the offside headlamp. The area illuminated by the dipped beam when driving into a curve is almost doubled. The result: increased safety.

Anyone know of a us distributer of these things?
Any Hella AUTHORIZED dealer should be able to get you this part.

Wow. $558. That ain't bad. It's a pretty significant percentage of the current value of my '02, but it's a fair price for genuine Hella HID.

If there's any reason to drag athread from the crypt, this is certainly worthy!

First, if I were you I would wait b/c there is something in the works. Couple of weeks out. ;)

Second is these are Euro with indicators included, so add the dub harness hack cost which is stupid high nowadays.

Third, add the cost of shipping to the ebay price, along with the dub hack cost...still an excellent deal, but see the first thing I said.

Fourth, about HID and Dynabeams, the apparent issue with the upgrade is the power wiring that controls the movement of the projector is apparently part of the H7 bulb socket wiring. This would eliminate plug and play and open up cut, splice, and play as the only way to get them to H.I.D.

bustonit,
I'm interested and I'll be watching this thread,
I don't care about the "swivelly thing" feature(just sounds like something else to break!),
but quality HID's by HELLA that are priced right and plug and play is what I'm after.

Fantastic. Can't wait.
