I have a black helmet, and it is definitely something to think about. I have more problems with my black steering wheel than my black helmet though. I am usually pretty good about keeping the lid out of the sun. Though that is really, really tough with the convertible barbie car
Black helmet, white helmet, with all this hair it won't matter anyway. I am going to sweat buckets in hot weather anyhow.

Yep, Alex...that would be the one. Perhaps when we have that kind of cash just fall out of the sky....;)

darn this new focus. I really like it. I HATED the first get when it came out. I thought the headlights were disgusting. Then the updated nose was nice, but just "Uh...that's all you did?" Then the 08+ came out, and it never did grow on me (well, the FSwerks power did grow on me). Maybe I should stop thinking about power in my daily driver, and put the money to the fun toys, like a track car. Then I saw the post about sub-10k brand new focus...Hopefully I have a long time before I have to start shopping. It was a bit depressing to find that KBB says my car is worth $900.

Dude - Round 2 in Ugly Mugs...

Chalz didn't even wait for retaliation.

Ogre - put your stein down and clear your mouth of liquids first. Perhaps grab a paper bag for the hyperventilation that is sure to occur. :D

Holy crap, this damn car! Now i notice the P/S pressure line is toast and I'm going to have to overnight one from Steve

Sometimes I wish I was a complete hack and didn't care so long as the car runs. I'm half tempted to order the hoses and fittings to fab my own line and re-route the damn thing, that's what should really be done anyway. Ford Engineers: "Hey guys, where are we going to put the P/S line in this car?" "Let's just create a 5-piece line and route it over the ****ing header!" :bang:

For the 1st time today, my belt came off during a photo shoot. But it wasn't nearly how I played it out in my head. I was shooting outside in the cold for an hour, a truck driver and a lot of semi's. They needed the belt buckle which he forgot, so I can just photoshop that in, no problem. But I didn't want to photoshop a belt, so I loaned him mine. LOL

Well gooood morning Nor-Cal!

Aaron, sorry to hear about your P/S line woes. Youlle get through it, and it'll turn out great no matter what you decide.

So, in my latest tuning tweaks, I've done the following,

Added 5% fuel from 3000-4000
Added 10% fuel from 4000-5000
Added 10% fuel from 5000-6000
Added 10% fuel from 6000-7000

that got my WOT A/F Rs right where I want them (11.0-11.8 full rpm range at WOT). Still has a bit of knock (ST/KR).

So I'm now taking away 1 degree of timing away at a time and re-testing.

So far, I've got it as follows,

-2 degrees 4000-5000
-2 degrees 5000-6000
-2 degrees 6000-7000

After that, I re-tested... Still have knock. Mostly in the 5000-5300 rpm range. A common Chrysler "knock trap" resonance range. The knock did subside quite a bit after pulling that timing though. Might pull one more degree and see if that doesthe trick.

I hope so, cause I don't want to have to start pulling boost.

Tuning is... a lot of fun. Imlearning so much:thumbup:

Couple-O-things...

1. Good morning, NorCal. :arr:

2. Have a laptop now and am posting through a rather weak wi-fi from the cab of my truck at work while waiting for my next assignmentz... but this damned Win7 has a few quirks I don't like.

3. Dev! Who's got the ZX3FORD plate now, I wonder... :chinrub:

4. Justin's posted his Mugz thread come-back, but it's not at all original.

Mike I am soo glad that I don't have boost. I wouldn't know the first thing about tuning it.
Dev, I knew absolutely nothing about tuning cars (especially turbo cars) before I bought The Princess Under Pressure. It was through good friends and my love for the car that I learned so much.

And believe me... if I can learn it, anyone can:thumbup:

hahaha Mike I don't think that I would ever have the patience for it.

Squire - No one has it. I was thinking about getting it again but I kinda want to change it as that was my old ride. :)

Ah... but, when you here that hiss and feel the thrust and watch the little orange needle sweep past 15 psi and you hit freeway speed from a stop in five and a half seconds... your patience seem to improve

Oh, and good morning Sir Squire!!

Good point.. The only vehicle that I had with boost was my 87' TC. I didn't have it long enough to play with it. :(
