April's dad, did indeed have a stroke. About every 20 minutes he asks why he's in the hospital. Thinks it's a different day. Doesn't remember who's visited him.

Ape is going to go see him tonight, so I am picking up the kids after work.

You know... April and I ended our relationship, but I spent a ton of time with her family, and they became my family. There was no bad blood between us. Her parents wanted us to work things out.

This is really upsetting. This really sucks.

 

 

Yeah I know the feeling. My ex mother in law and I were pretty close but my current gf isn't too keen on the contact with her as it puts me in the range of the ex.

Still if anything were to happen to her I would drop everything and do what I could for her.

Ugh.... I can only imagine. It was two years ago when Mom was in the hospital, I found some old journal entries that I had written to her. Would not like to go thru that again!

 

This is a really weird situation. He's young... only 60... and we were buddies.

I want to comfort April, I want to comfort the family, but I'm really a non-entity anymore.

I didn't think I'd be this upset about something like this. I'm completely unprepared.

 

It's just a frailty of life thing, Hale. I would be affected too.

 

Hale no one is every ready for stuff like this. Hang in there buddy. You have my number if you need to decompress.

No, they were pretty good. Had one with an attitude which I did not appreciate...so I moved her to a desk in the corner. Then of course, had the "can I go to the bathroom?" every 5 seconds. Yeah...riiiggghht. Can't pull that one past me. Then of course there were the students who had to tell me all about the discipline program their teacher uses, whenever a kid acted up. They are so funny!
