Do I need to run different spark plugs? All of my ignition is currently stock, but just ordered the SD coil and Livewires. Is there anything else I may need to know?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. No FI for me

only if you are forced induction, then you should go with one-step-colder plugs. the stock plugs will be fine in your car with this kit, but they DO need to be gapped to around .065
They DON'T NEED to be gapped at .065. It says that it allows you to gap them that much. I'd try it at .065 and see how it runs. If it runs like crap, I'd shrink the gap.

Cool. I should be recieving them tomorrow. I am gonna experiment with them. Won't be able to do too much since I have a bad o2 sensor, and she runs like hell right now.

If you have the extra cash, I'd go ahead and buy a brand new set of plugs. I did the same this and kept the stockers for back-up. Also, I gapped my plugs at .065, but I have been thinking of decreasing the gap to see if it makes any kind of difference. I figure the diff. won't be noticeable by way of HP and TQ, but hey at least see what it does. I may try pulling each plug out, but leaving it connected to the coil and wires, then crank the car to see how white the spark gets at various gaps. Like what was mentioned above, they say you can gap the plugs UP TO .065, but that doesn't mean that that is the best gap to get the best spark all the time.

All the SD coil and Wires does is shrink your wallet

EVERY aftermarket coil on the market tells you to "open the gap" on your plugs for a greater spark...... NO [censored]

It works with ANY type of coil, open up the gap of your plugs causes the stock coil to build higher voltage so the plug can fire across the "new" wider gap.

You can do this on your COMPLETLY STOCK SYSTEM. Pull out your plugs, re-gap them, put them back in and save the $150 for something thats actually going to give you gains.... like a tune.
