I think my brother finally is going to lower his ZTS, and I think I have finally decided on the springs to get.

I think I want the Progress springs with the 1.8" drop, everyone here who has them says them love em. I was wondering some things.

If I purchase the Camber Adjustment kit from McNews and have that installed with the springs will that make the car not need dampers or struts more then with the stock springs? Like is more going to have to be bought in the future still with a camber adjustment kit on?

Where is the best place to get these cheap. That one place www.asylumms.com has them for $166 total with shipping but I heard they are terrible on shipping and I don't know if they are respectable or not.

And last, what do you think install $$ for springs and camber adjustment kit would cost at an auto shop? Like $100 or less?

Thanks a lot.

First off, good choice with the progress springs. I have them and love them. Secondly, who told you that you will need camber plates? All you need is an alignment about a week after you install the springs. As far as I know, camber does not play a role in how long it will be before you have to get new dampers. Also, I would recommend that you install the springs yourself and save some money. It's a fairly easy but lengthy install. If you take it to a shop, you're looking at more than $100.

Ok, will the 1.8inch drop really effect the struts and dampers and such? I think so, I'm just worried about forcing my brother to get expensive items in a some months-year. I'm not that smart with suspension as you can tell, so I'm just really curious. How is it to install yourself? Do you need a lift or can you just jack the car up?

Depending on how the roads are in your area, your dampers might go out in 6 months or last a year. Either way, you have some time to save up for some aftermarket dampers. The Eibach Pro-Dampers go real well with the Progress springs. As far as doing the install yourself, you don't need a lift. Use a jack and jack stands and do one corner at a time. You will need to rent some spring compressor to collapse the spring off of the strut. BE CAREFUL DOING THIS!!! The front is "harder" than the rear just because you have to take off more stuff but it's not that bad. You can rent spring compressor from autozone or any tool store. I would recomend renting an impact also. We used an electric one and it worked great. Here is a link for more detailed instructions. http://www.focushacks.com/index.php?modid=26

If you exercise precaution and "shop safety" you won't be in any danger. When you're compressing the spring, take your time and don't force it. Another option would be to take the springs while they are still on the strut to a shop and have them compress the spring and put the new spring on the strut. That shouldn't be any more than $20 per side.

considering spring compressors are $20 around here, you'd save $$ buying your own, I've gotten braver with the install and have started using an impact wrench.....takes no time at all....

I HIGHLY recommend the Progress springs, they are AWSOME!!!!
