**Rear Wheel won\'t come off hub!**

I'm trying to take my wheel off and it's been at least an hour now (with breaks in between of course).

I've sprayed ALOT of WD40 over the time but nothing has happened.

Any advice guys?

I haven't taken them off since before winter so I'm sure it's just molded on to the hub by all the debris and mud and what not that the car got over the season. But none of the other tires gave any problems!

Its obviously "frozen/rusted on" - I had the same problem. You may have to bring it to a shop and have a mechanic "hit" it from underneath the car. My guy used a long crow bar and wedged it off. Lesson learned - put a small amount of lube on the hub so this will not happen again. Imagine if you got a flat on the road and had to remove this tire

I don't suggest kicking it from under the car. Something wrong about doing that with jackstands!

Just kick the tire on the wheel a couple good kicks... It will break right loose.

Thanks for all the advice.

I've been trying the kicking thing too many times!

Thing just won't come off!!!
Maybe I'm just not kicking hard enough but I'll keep trying.

I'd much much rather kick it off but I guess if it comes down to it, I'll just bring it by the local tire shop...even though I'd must rather not because they'll probably try charging me for a BS task like this.

Thanks again.

Did you get it off yet?

I had the same problem a few months ago. Tried a rubber mallet, a 2x4 and a sledge hammer, crow bar, etc...You name it I tried it.

I ended up loosening all four rear lugs 1.5 turns and then driving around the block weaving back and forth. It was the only way I could get the rear wheel off. When the wheel comes loose, you will be able to feel it.

I'm not kidding here either. I was at an auto-x a few weeks ago. A guy there with a Mini was having the same problem. He tried the loose lug nut thing and it worked.

The Loose Lug thing always works. Like the time I rotated my tires and forgot to tighten my driver's rear tire, yeah, it came off at about 40 mph. That was not fun! Make sure you tighten them after reinstalling them. HAHA

i get these situations at the dealership all the time... i used to be real careful with the wheel and use a big orange snap on plastic sledge, now i just smak the wheel from the back side with a 8 pound hammer... usually only takes a few whacks.
