I thought they were missing too at first when I logged on.Unfortunately now it seems easier to by pass the Regional Forums.I liked the way it was before.

It cleans up the front forum page, but I must admit that I also thought we'd lost our regional forums when I first signed on :lol:

I think everyone's biggest gripe is going to be that they can't just scroll down and see if there are any new posts in their region. That's really my only problem with the change.

 

i was sad. i thought i pissed off god and he was henceforth punching me in the internet balls as vengeful fullfilment. after i cursed and denounced god i noticed it was a lameass subforum link. i still haven't taken back what i've said about god. but he knows he's not innocent

I think one function would solve everyone's problems, and shouldn't be too hard to put in.

Make the Regional Forum a "favorites" style forum, giving the user the option to choose up to 2 or 3 regions to be un-collapsed all the time, and click the "regional" section button to see the rest.

Would you be able to make that happen?

p.s.- do like the new intros to the sections tho,

it would be a serious pain in the ass to do

I liked the old FJ, when EVERYTHING was a "favorites" style. Too much scrolling involved to get past the crap forums (there are alot of them).

How about expand Regionals back out and collapse Focus News. That forum gets a good 3 to 5 posts a day!

Also remove the forum Ford Racing - Revolt.Build.Rise as it's pretty much dead.

Also Collapse the Ford Focus Style into 2 Forums

This would help remove some room as well. And those forums barely get any play.

I don't like the compressed look, but if you're going to keep it, move the regionals higher up the ladder.

 

I dont care for it either...can we get a poll on it, and if the users vote, can we get it back? At least make it expandablefor those of us who want it. PLEASE? Im in Iraq, and the computers are really slow, and it takes forever to keep opening the "regional" window.

no real DB changes. at least there shouldn't be. i've done alterations to standing code base without DB changes. but this might, you never know. besides, they've said that they don't want to change the source for future upgrade but i keep saying that they should just document the chances. it wouldn't be hard. it's not like PHP is difficult.

Actually it is a DB change, because favorites are currently thread based. To add favorites for category it would be an intersection table that ties categories to users.

I'm 90% sure there are DB changes if (as I said earlier) the software does not support it.

Focaljet isn't paying it's admins. So to keep documentation of changes made so that when updates are made, it's easy to go back, isn't very feasible for large changes. As the amount of time it would take at a rate of $0.00 per hour would be alot for restoring large changes.

i understand, i'm thinking a lil selfish/arrogant i guess. Writing wise wouldn't be too hard because im looking at it from my field.

but losing the support on a forum like this would blow, sry for bringing it up.

anyway, this i could work with. the regonals in the category link and that you can definatly do in the description. if it's not allowed thru BB code then directly inject it with HTML. if THAT doesn't work just go into the DB and put it in there specifically
