Grill needs to be removed, there are 3 10mm bots on top and one under the car. Top 3 are easy and the one at the bottom will make you say words you did'nt know existed.

 

What was said in the previous post is correct. I found that using a shorter handled ratchet on the bottom one made it significantly easier to remove, though.

 

Yeah there is one mystery bolt mounted underneath the light that runs parallel to the ground. It's a real PITA to remove. I don't know why they didn't just use some kind of clip down there.

I've gotten headlight removal down to 5 min. Plus my 2002 redesign euros don't have the bolt by the grill and the euro grill only has 2 bolts.

5 min is easy once you have the right tools and know where the hell all the bolts are. I left the bottom ones off on mine as well, too hard to mess with. Lights needed a little adjustment but never had problems. The grill bolts are 10mm and easy to get off too.

I found this out the hard way, sort of, when I removed the top three, and the lamps weren't going to come out without breaking something. Now I know why.

Still curious about the grill, though, as it doesn't look to be in the way -- or is it in the way for removing the bottom bolt?

 

The lights are kinda pressure fitted in there with the grill. Takes 30 seconds to take it off, plus you won't accidently break something. I'm pretty good at the accident breaks

The third top bot is right underneath the grill (at least on my setup) you need to remove it to get to this bolt.

On mine, I was able to get at it without removing the grill.
