x's 2 on that one. The only thing it goes in for is inspection.Thameth said:Uhhhh why should you never do your own work??? If your capable, whats the problem?
I never take my car anymore to these shops for tire mounting. I lift my car and leave it on jackstands while i take the wheels and tires to a shop for mounting separately.
Apparently there isn't much to look at. LinkDisrupTer911 said:I've always wondered what he undeside of an Elise looks like..

dude its just a lotus, a place like goodyear should be able to service it... Dealers are dealers, they almost ALWAYS charge way to dam much for service on cars, no matter what the price range is. Dealers are again dealers and they can screw up just like they do with "cheaper" cars.blackst05 said:If i had the money for that kind of car. I wouldnt be takeing it to some ma and pa shop. Right to the dealer. Hell the dealer would probley pick it up for him and bring it back.
That is what you are SUPPOSE to do with every car!!! At the shop I worked at they were a bit paranoid about lifting cars and there was one lift that was supposedly "certified" as being ok to use. No one in the shop really trusted it, and it was never used. Then the shop was getting busier so someone decided to try and use the lift...whiteboyslo said:used to work at Sears and was so paranoid that would happen. i'd put a car on the lift, raise it about 3", and shake it by pressing down on the front bumper. if that thing swayed even a little, i brought it back down and re-did it. took forever and got me in hot water with the manager often, but i didn't care. last thing i wanted was to be underneath a car and have that happen.

You know, normally I agree with you.TXFO said:Any car thats so ass heavy it slides off the lift DESERVES to come to a crashing end.
POS toyotas.
And yes, Ive worked on those cars too. I'll take a BMW 330 over an Elise ANYDAY.
If it were either of my cars....2focusd said:If that was my car, I'd be dragged from the shop bloody

Yea its kinda lame but the car is considered probably the best handling car in the world.... :screwy:Ducman69 said:Holy crap, I never noticed that... an Elise has 62% of its mass on the back wheels?!?!!? What the hell did they do that for? Or is the driver far enough forward that it counteracts that to some extent? That is kinda lame.
