Took the 05 2.0 5spd Duratec to Moroso Friday night, went 15.2@95, crappy launch

Mods :

OBX 2.5" Catback
Nitrous Works 50 Wet Shot
Eibach Sportlines

Car is all otherwise stock down to the paper filter, I am impressed how hard it runs with the shot untuned, it will go 14's next time out.

Behind me is the yellow Powerworks SC'd Focus I was beating all night at the track, he was mad, my nitrous is well hidden and I told him all I had was an exhaust, then I just showed him the nitrous, lol...he was still a bit mad though. But hey I would be too, spending all that money and getting out ET'd and out trapped by a near stock Duratec :p

I needed the hubcaps off for the track, but I think it looks better than it did with hubcaps LOL.

Here is a picture for reference with hubcaps. I guess it looks "cleaner" but I think hubcaps are pretty gay, and I cannot blow money on SVT wheels, although I'd LOVE some ZTS wheels.

Not to bad of times, for a first time out!

That is a total shame that a PW'd car is only running mid 15's.... can anyone say driving school is needed??????????

Duratecs don't have paper filters, they have "lifetime element" foam filters, and they're huge obstacles to making power. I highly recommend that your next mod be an intake. You'll thank me.

Very nice run, by the way.

Thanks guys, lol.

Yea man the stock intake is an nice design I must say, but the filter kills it. I bet my 95 trap would have been a 96 with a KN cone or a CAI. I will most likely get the FS or a MM intake soon. I cannot believe my mph was so high with only 175-180ish whp IF THAT! The PW'd Zetec was going 15.0-15.4's all night @90-92 mph.

Heh, here are some pictures from earlier in the week when we did the nitrous install at my buddys place and had some photo ops.

Enjoy.

It definately looks better without the hubcaps. Still, your next mod should be wheels/tires.
I'd liek to do wheels but when I spend money next it will definately be a CAI which will help out in the breathing department.

I am going back to the track this week to hit 14's!

What would make you say that? It's like six feet long.
and breathing through a straw that dosnt need to be serviced for 100k miles.

i think he might of meant good for the repair and maintance guys not having to work on it.
haha

Wow!

Intake/Header/Flex/Tune w/ DR's you'll be 13's over a 100 on a 75 shot.

Impressive man, very nice!

Me and my buddys were talking about that. I notice not a lot of Focus guys are into nitrous, but having prior nitrous experience from other cars, I just applied it to this :) Imagine if I had a 2.3

But I will go 14's first with just the catback and 50 shot, I want to get the full potential of the car first. Then I need a CAI/Header/Tune and DR's and I think it would go low 14's@98ish on just the 50 (I trapped 95 with just the exhaust and catback) then on a 75 shot I am hoping 13.80s @100-102. Hope it holds up, lol. Wish me luck dude

I dont know, I mean its not superior or anything but I was under the car and it seems if you took the stock airbox off and slapped a cone on the MAF and took my fog light cover off (I dont have fog lights on mine) I would have a pretty damn nice ram air for 40$.

That install is really stealthy. I think I see the nitrous and fuel lines covered in black conduit.

You have a good eye, sir! :)

We hid the solenoid right up on the firewall (if you see, we made a black plastic shield to hide them), the lines are all covered in wire loom plastic!
