Re: Sonic gets hit AGAIN........but this time the Police get involved....

My god Jason....you have the worst luck of anyone I have ever heard of as far as cars are concerned. I say we start a [FJ] protection act that buys members these when needed; Jason gets the first one.

Re: 5 years, 11 months, 16 days, 19 hours, and 58 minutes later...

Congrats Jason. Quite a milestone. I hope I still have my car when it rolls 150K but we will see since I want to have more kids. Sonic has been cared for and is lucky to have you as an owner.

Re: 5 years, 11 months, 16 days, 19 hours, and 58 minutes later...

I bought my car Aug 28th 2006 and drove it home at like 9:30pm. But it was used a tad neglected. She got the love she needed and still doesn't look as nice as Sonic does. I wish she could have rolled off the lot brand new like Sonic and be the first and only owner.

It just goes to show that if you take good care of your car, it will take great care of you.

Re: Wait....what? Sonic was WHERE? Update Post #228

That is an awesome story Jason. I'm so glad you went a FF event and won there since you can't quite get FOTM on your own forum. (shame on you jetters!:p)

The first two friends that Ryan and I had from a focus event was Dan & Dave from FF. Very cool guys and they had no problem going to a FJ event, a Team Focus Norcal event (when it was around) or a FF event. They didn't care.

It was just that I met Pixie Jen and where one goes, we both go. Congrats Jason on finally getting the recognition you deserve and know that in this community you were always a leader among us. You don't need a FOTM title to prove it. :D:wub:

Re: Sonic - Parked: Update post #261

I'm so sorry Jason. Damn man...when it rains in your world is friggin floods destroys nearly everything. That sucks and at least you know nothing will happen to Christie during this period.

Ryan's brother is a pretty severe epileptic. He can keep it under control while taking his meds. A couple years ago, less than a week after I had Genna, he was driving to work on the freeway during rush hour, and had a seizure while driving. He crossed from the fast lane, over the the slow lane shoulder and just happened to hit a parked truck that was abandoned. Crushed is MKIII VR6 GTI so bad, they had to get him out through the trunk. No one knew until an hour later since he didn't show up to work and we spent that morning calling all the hospitals.

Thankfully he had one of those bracelets on and they contacted his mom at work. Even more thankful that he and his mother work for the same company and she gets there first, so when he was late, red flag. His license was suspended for a year.

Nothing wrong with saving $700 a month, and the piece of mind that Christie is safe. As long as the Dr is on your side and monitors her closely and her meds do their job, then she may even get her license back sooner than that. Keep ur head up, buddy.

Re: Sonic - Parked: Update post #261

That sucks Jason. I know what you mean about the generic stuff. My brother-in-law is on the name brand stuff and it costs him $250 a month, but he gets a choice to change to the generic if he wants to. He won't because of the same issue Christie has with the generic; its just not worth the risk. If he doesn't take his meds, he WILL seize. And his seizures are gnarly and last several minutes.

I'm so sorry that all this is happening. It seems to happen ALL the time. I would start playing the lottery and hopefully, when you hit it big time, you can hire a personal physician that sees no one but Christie. I would also consider hiring an Advocate to help you with Christie's case. It shouldn't be your job to go back and forth between the state and the insurance company. This will make sure that the Drs are doing what they should be and that the insurance companies are too. They know the law because essentially, they are lawyers.

In CA, you can get an appointed Advocate from the hospital in the event you don't have one of your own. My family required one when Ryan's grandmother died due to a botched surgery and in order to take her home and put her in Hospice, the Advocate worked her magic and achieved what no one else could. They find the loop holes, they give you your answers, they do the leg work. It might be helpful to give you both a better quality of life so you aren't constantly dealing with the paperwork, phone calls, bills, ect that you may not necessarily have to. Just a suggestion.

Re: Sonic Got Some Exposure - Update Post #280

If that doesn't earn you some love, recognition or even sponsorship, I don't know what will. That is dedication to a character they invented.

Well done Jason.

Re: Sega Responds to "Sonic"! - Update Post #304

Yea......NO. There are MUCH more deserving cars for magazine coverage than mine.
Pfft, I can so see you on the cover of Game Informer or at least in an article concerning the new Sonic games. And yeah...helmet + Sonic spikes = win. :D

Any black Foci want to dress up as Shadow?

Ataru needs a nemesis.

Re: Sega Responds to "Sonic"! - Update Post #304

A little more red and it would be perfect. The car is really, really well done. It takes a lot to make what essentially is a Statement Car. Jason has done that with his car; its The Sonic Statement Car.

Re: Sega Responds to "Sonic"! - PACKAGE ARRIVES! - Update Post #390

Sonic DX is my favorite Sonic game of all time. It is the only reason I still have my Gamecube and why hook it up from time to time. I love the little Chaos.

That is so awesome that they sent you such a generous lot of gifts for your enthusiasm. A tremendous congrats bro.

Sega Gift Lot + FOTM = On Top-O-Da World Jase

Sega gift lot + FITF09 + FOTM = Top-O-Da World Jase

Re: Sega Responds to "Sonic"! - My "Thank You" - Update Post #427

I love the picture, Jason. I'm sure Sega will appreciate it. Well done!

Re: "Sonic" - Oh NO He Didn't! - 4-15-10

That is so full of win, Jason.

Re: "Sonic" - Headed to Carlisle

Thats awesome, Jason! I would have totally auto-xed. I wish we had more Focus events that held them. I love the shift knob and the rings! Very creative. Its like, ever since you won FOTM (after a million years) you have just not stopped winning.

Good show. ;)

Re: "Sonic" - Headed to Carlisle

Dang, that trips me out...the grass, the multiple laps, so little cones. Ours are totally different. Sometimes we don't even get chalked lines.

Re: "Sonic" - Sonic's hurt - Double Whammy - Accident AND Keyed!!!

OMG Jason...this sucks. Perhaps now its worth filing a claim to fix the keyed paint? I know how you feel about the bumper. My rear bumper has been hit three different times by people who try to park and totally fail. Whats worse, I feel when I drive around, its all people see and they think I did it since I'm a woman and can't drive. :(:bang:

Like I told you on FB, if I were going to die, I would want Death by Sonic. Its a good death. Just think of it as freeing a little flicky. :)

Re: "Sonic" - Changed Shoes Again

I'm really digging it, Jason. I almost got some TDs in white for my car but the BBS were a good deal. Car is looking great!

Re: "Sonic" - Autocross 3-27-11 WEEEEEEEEEE!

Wow, Jason. That looks like cold tires and cold practice to me. I know you're WAY better than that, so don't get discouraged. Maybe the tire pressures were off hence too much rotation? I never GO for it on my first run. I will blow it with that rear sway bar....I just warm the tires up and then my next few runs are so much better as a result. :) Wheels look great and its too bad that you had a hard day; that looks like a fun course.

Re: "Sonic" - Autocross 3-27-11 WEEEEEEEEEE!

Well it also didnt help that it was mid 30's, it had been raining earlyer in the morning and a very slipery lot. Even after the first run goup cleaned it up alot their was still sand and mud in places.
Uggg, that sucks. Yeah, that will cause a spin out. With all that wheel movement, it looked like he was looking for grip. I quit running in the rain because of that very reason. My car does okay in the rain, it gets easy to slide around corners and such, but when you can't keep the tires warm and you spend the day spinning, it just gets too frustrating. At the divisional in February, it POURED the first day and I go to make a 90* left and I slide, laterally, into a wall of cones. I laughed hysterically all the way back to the pits, carrying two cones under the car.

Re: "Sonic" - Autocross 3-27-11 WEEEEEEEEEE!

Oh, and as for tire pressures I went from 44f, 41r to 35f, 30r by the end of the day and the rear was still way loose. I also softened up my rear shocks all the way to no avail.
I had a feeling it was more tire than anything else. Rotation is NEVER a bad thing but if your front tires just won't grip, only Jesus is saving that spin. I am so over auto-xing in the rain. I will wait for the dry days where I don't have to work in the rain. When is your next event?
