Why do I have this image running through my mind of Jason hitting the coyote and a bunch of gold rings all come flying out of the car and scatter in all directions, haha.

i actually saw a live coyote on the side of the interstate tonight on my way home. freaked me the hell out when i saw it too.

good luck with the repairs

Well more repairs coming. As some of you might have seen on facebook, yesterday I noticed my driver's rear door was keyed as well.

It wasn't last week.

I walked around my car last week looking for other key marks and didn't see any other than the driver's fender and front door. Yesterday I see the driver's rear door is keyed so I guess the same person came back and keyed that door as well.

Alarms can help stop people from stealing your car or breking in to steal things out of it, but they won't do squat to stop vandalism.

It takes 3 seconds to key a car, and even with an alarm that person would be long gone by the time I could make it out to my car.

Only thing I can do it quit working at the mall and stop being a manager that has to terminate employees for doing dishonest stuff on the job. I need to get paid, so unfortunately that can't happen.

I have to say, in my 16 years of retail management spanning three states and multiple markets, and hundreds of employees, I'm feeling for you. I never had anyone mess with my car. I also was the one manager that would actually fire employees and bust up in store theft rings. You would think all you should have to worry about would be the customers dinging up your doors/fenders or runaway carts on the devil's mission. But that threat of the rouge current or ex-employee was/is always there. All that being said, some areas are worse than others as far as the quality of hire available.

Not sure what you do in general, but I had the thought that if you are somehow impressing on your employees how much Sonic means to you, that may be giving them ideas on ways to carry out their misguided actions.
I realize your store has a limited staff, and on a daily basis, they are at minimum acquaintances, so cross talk about interests is natural. Maybe leaving Sonic out of that mix might be a precaution. Just trying think of a way to help you out.

Sorry to hear about your car. I don't like the idea of the prox sensor either; way too many false alarms would just raise your blood pressure. My car was keyed very badly about a two months ago and was in the shop being repaired for 3 weeks. During this time I tried to look at the upside which was new paint. Pardon me for not reading through the whole thread; I'm hoping you have insurance to cover the damages?
As for having to park your car at the mall (which is also a hotbed for grand theft auto no less), have you thought about driving your car to a local park and ride facility and busing in? They often have cameras which help to deter vandals/thieves not wanting to be on candid camera.

Not to make light of Sonic's misfortune, but am I the only person who found this HILARIOUS?

I'm sure you've done the obvious and changed up where you park each day, park as close as you can to the entrances where all the traffic comes in from, maybe even going so far as to parking your car over at the Wal Mart and walking in?

Just curious, if you're the manager that does all the firing, who does the hiring? Check with HR first, but maybe asking the question "Are you the kind of prick who would key your manager's car if you do something dumb enough to make me fire you" is worth asking.....

Some people have the nerve to do this to someone's car that they can see they obviously put a lot of work into.

becasue that's what happened. the rings all dissapeared with his lower shroud. (btw ataru, you need some rings.... its the only thing missing
