Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C

Fuji Heavy Industries, parent company of Subaru, has announced that it will submit a homologation application to the FIA for the Impreza WRX STi Spec C to rally as a Group N vehicle in 2006. Group N cars are known for being closest in spec to their production based counterparts and are regulated by strict FIA limitations. FHI has pledged to produce 1,000 units of the Spec C, which is the minimum requirement for Group N classification. The car is about 15 lbs. lighter than a standard STi due to lighter glass, thinner roof construction and an aluminum trunk lid. It also features reinforced strut tower braces, a rear crossbar and other additions to improve chassis rigidity, as well as an intercooler water sprayer and air-cooled engine oil cooler.

Seems like a lot of work for 15 pounds. The new front is becoming less horrible over time, though.
Yea, its amazing how much of a difference color makes. In white, it actually doesn't look like ass.

I'd like to know how much they spent to loose that 15 lbs.

Hummm..isn't that bad. That front face grill screams out European all through out more then anything. Wished they would give it better rear lights though.

The new redesigned Imprezas are already out on the streets. I've seen a total of 9 of them running around as rental cars here on Maui and have still yet to catch up to one of them. I promise you all a few pictures of the "re-faced" Impreza.

These cars are getting too common where I live, and they're mostly driven by lunatics. For sure owners are far richer than I will ever be, but they've lost the Q-car status they once had and seemed to be owned by idiots who speed EVERYWHERE with their stupid dumpster sized exhausts.

So many people have them, it's nothing unique anymore.
Like what happened to the BMW 3 series Coupe... I'm not being rude to the owners of these cars, they *Are* awesome cars, just if I had ÂŁ30,000 I'd get a second hand Audi RS4 or something 'mysterious' that has people baffled to the awesome performance and not drive a metallic vibrator that screams 'look at me'.

I'd better make the point I've love one of these cars, and I'm just mad at the drivers in England nearly running people over 24/7 by driving too fast. I hope Americans who drive WRX thingys aren't all as bad as the Brits who drive 'em.

Same here. I do agree that cars such as the EVO and the WRX STi are great cars for the money but since they're so awesome and cheap I'm seeing them everywhere now. It does sorta knocks the specialness to them. But then again it still drives me crazy when I see one cruise by on the street or better yet the highway.

And talking about the BMW 3 series, those are rare where I live. I mean, you might see some of the older ones but the newer models are always a rarity and a treat to see.
