I have been searching as well and here in north cali a few shops quoted me $250 for the flip up and $900 for the motorized moonroof. They both come with lifetime warranty for installation and material.

The manual crank like in 02 focus (correct me if I am wrong) is hard to get, and it's $750 with 3 yr. warranty.

If I were to go along those lines I might consider the full clear tinted sunroof like the caddys but were not driving a buggy here.

I had one installed that year and I did have a couple problems with it in the beginning (leaking small amounts of water when it rained), but it had a warranty so they fixed the problem immediately. Sense then I have not had a problem and its been about 3 years now. I have the sunroof that flips up and you can also remove the tinted glass piece. I think the price was about $300.00, but thats in Cali!

I personally like the sunroof and I do not regret installing it.

$300? was that installed? and when you say 'you can also remove the tinted glass piece... you mean like targa top remove? or like it just tucks in the roof, that whay I'm looking for, a targa styled piece I can remove and put back when needed. Not really a sun roof. Just something like that.

Im going to take some pix of my Focus this weekend. Ill get some pix of the sunroof only and Ill try to post them within the next few dayz.

I had my sunroof installed in Rancho Cucamonga, Cali. If you are fimilar with that area, the place is located on 4th street between Hermosa and Archibald. I forgot the name of the place... I know its somethin accessories. I could find out the name of the place if you need it.

...It leaves a sunroof-shaped/sized hole in the roof...Not sure how to explain it any simpler...

I am interested in getting one of those removable things. If somone would tell me who makes them... they sound cool and they are cheap.

 

How bout this, I got a deal.

I'll have my rood removed(i have a stupid moonroof that I hate)

and you have your entire roof removed.

Then we'll do a swap.

And you can have my roof w/ moonroof.
