svt fog lights on anytime

I've done some searching with no luck for a way to keep the fog lights on when you switch to the bright lights or when just the parking lights are on in my svt.

I would like to do both.

I see this mod for the regular focus & the R13 relay but nothing on the svt.

Has anyone done this with their svt?

Thanks

Question on this (I hope it's okay to pull up an old thread rather than starting a new one...): Does anyone have any experience doing this? My husband made the little breaker jump thingie per the directions on that website, and I'm nervous about installing it because that means there'll be no breaker for the fog lamps - will doing this install increase the liklihood of causing something to burn out or otherwise fail?

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any advice.

Wow I've been on here for 7 years and I just read something that I have no clue what it is.....
What's the high beam mod :dunno:

its when the low beam and the highs stay on together. also the fogs are on as well so there are 3 different light sources at one time. its awesome. lol

I am with Luckyboy. I just did it to my SVT and it doesnt work. I made the connection from slot 3 to 5 (the two parallel slots) and it didnt work. Then I tried the other end of the switch and connect 3 to 4 (4 being the middle slot in the row of 3) and that didnt work either. With both tries the lights worked as if the relay was still there. Fogs on only with the low beams. Can anyone help?

Sorry that I am waking up an old thread but I felt the need to help out some others:

I had read most of the posts about the Fog Light Modification, however, none of them worked for me. I have a 2004 SVTf with EAP (and HIDS). Opposite to the typical Focus Fog Light Modification, I had to "CLOSE" the relay circuit, not keep it open. I have no idea on which connectors in the fuse box to jump but eventually I just took some #24 speaker wire (with the plastic cover on) and jammed it in between the relay contact back and those two small teats on the relay to keep the circuit closed on the relay. I guess that I could have used some type of "conductive" material between the relay points to provide the same effect instead of jamming the points together but for the moment it works. You just need to keep the contacts closed.

FWIW, the fog lights are on even when your high beams are on. Some states frown on this. HIDs plus high beams plus fog lights brighten up the horizon. Caveat Emptor.

I hope this makes sense.

Hampton

PS: Don't mistake the fuel pump relay (#7) for the fog light relay (#13) like I did. This is experience talking.
PPS: Oh, the ignition has to be full on not just half on for radio and etc.

On the SVT's with standard lights, ditto on the fog light mod being a good one and perfectly safe. There are other upstream safeties in the system so no worries. I bypassed my relay so I can leave all lights on when on high beam. Not so I can use them with the parking lights only.

As far as the high beam mod goes, my experience isn't so much with the mod on a Focus but with using both filaments in a single H4 type bulb at the same time. I had a problem with a bad headlight switch in my Discovery while on a road trip. I couldn't get it to switch to high beam normally and when I did ALL the lights went out. (It was just a bad switch). However, what I did since it was dark and I had to continue driving was to hold the spring loaded "high flash" on whenever I needed more light. This may not seem to relate but after doing this off and on between Phoenix and Vegas, one of the bulbs exploded. You don't want to have to clean the inside of the headlight, trust me. It was quite a mess. I really don't think this mod is advisable unless you only plan to use it for very short periods...very short. Just add a set of lights or put in higher output bulbs or something along those lines.

Old thread...I know. I checked out the Focus Hacks link and, because I'm an idiot and need the "XXX for Dummies" version of everything, none of what I read on the Focus Hacks site made sense to me! Does anyone have a pic of the mod so I can see what it SHOULD look like before I fry my entire fuse box? Thanks!
