SVT Parts from Junkyard; What to Look for and Prices?

My uncle told me today that there's a totalled SVTF in a nearby junkyard, so of course I immediatley said that I'd go with him to check it out later this week. I'm hoping that the header and possibly cat are still intact, and the seats. The wheels I'm not going to even hope for. Any other suggestions of what to salvage?

What would you say reasonable prices would be for reasonable good condition seats and header?

Mod Edit for practical purposes. No soliciting "parts for sale" stuff.

Anything you want that you can pull from it. It all fits, all of it.

It's been my experience that junkyard guys more often than not know what stuff is worth and are not willing to get ripped off when they sell it. If the guy knows anything about cars at all, (pretty good chance of that right?) he will be fully aware that the SVT cars are special.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high that you're going to get any crazy deals on anything. He probably knows retail on every part, most of those guys get pricing from the dealer before they let anything go.

edit - good prices for seats and header?

Header, I'd pay up to $200 for it.

Seats, I'd pay up to $500 for the entire interior, if it's immaculately perfect. Less if it's not.

I'd also look for headlights, long shot I know, but it may have intact HIDs

Yah sorry, didn't mean to turn this into a buy/sell post, just wanted some suggestions. I better bring my check book, eh? lol

I wouldn't pay more than $40 for the header. Here is a good example of price differences from retail used parts places and u-pull-it places. A typical used 1995 Mustang spindle/hub from a specialty junk yard who sells used Mustang parts will charge around $75. That same part at a u-pull-it is $10.

So I'm thinking if this SVT is at a u-pull-it:

a. the car will be raped before you can get to it
b. if you do manage to get some parts, the idiots at the counter have no idea what they have
c. parts are all pre-priced in a computer based on part type (i.e. all exhaust manifolds cost the same)

Seats I'm sure would be rather pricey regardless of what they are from since they are nice, new, and leather.

Good luck with the parts pulling. It has been my past experience that cars like this last less than a few days, so my advice is to get there as soon as humanely possible to pick through the leftovers.

From my experience most places will not allow you in the yard at all. To much theft and liability if you get hurt. Some take 50% of list price for pricing.
Apparently you've never been to a U-Pull-It junkyard, where you are not only encouraged to enter the yard, it is the only means by which you can acquire a part! Admitedly they are scarce in the NY metro area, but there are a few. A short drive out to eastern PA, and there are several.
