FOCUS RISING 2010
at Carlisle All Ford Nationals

Image

It's back, you knew it was coming, so once again lets have another EPIC Carlisle Ford Nationals. This year we already have plans in the works for a tent much much bigger than last year's as well as we plan to break the 100 Foci mark, yes 100 Foci. We have many folks already interested from as far away as Texas and Toronto so let's make it huge.

SOMETHING NEW!!! THE OFFICIAL FOCUS RISING WEBSITE: http://www.focusrising.com/
Find the latest in news updates, visit the sponsor pages, and see the photos from last year of the event as well as much much more.

WHAT REALLY IS FOCUS RISING?
Focus Rising is an annual weekend event based around the Carlisle All Ford Nationals. The 2010 event will be the second year for the event after the success of this past year's 2009 event. This year's 2010 event will start on Friday June 4th and run until mid-afternoon on Sunday June 6th.

Focus Rising is meant to bring all Focus Owners from all up and down the east coast together for one awesome weekend. This past year we had owners showing up from as far south as Tampa, Florida to as far west as Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Whether your on FocusFanatics or FocalJet, or even Strictly-Focused or Focal-Point, you are welcome to attend.

At Focus Rising not only will the weekend be centered around Carlisle All Ford Nationals and the car show that goes along with it, but we are also have planned events for all of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. From BBQ at the Tent on Saturday and Sunday to a Hotel Block Party. From our own Car Judging Process to the Participant Judging on the showfield at Carlisle. From a Meet and Greet on Friday Night to get to know everybody to a Dinner Trip to a nearby Restaurant on Saturday Evening for even more mingling. This year will be one for the record books.

As everyone asks every year around Carlisle Ford Nationals Time, "How many focus owners do you think will show?". This year we are going BIG, no more messing around. This year we are going for at least 100 Focus Owners and their Cars to show up. We want every single owner of a modified focus on the East Coast of the United States to show this year. And if your stock, don't worry we haven't forgot about you either. In our own awards as well as the system at Carlisle we will have awards for owners that like their car the way they came. And to add on, Carlisle's Stock Focus Class is one ever changing class, so bring a clean Focus and strut your stuff!

Anyone that has been to this event in the past knows we all have a blast. Please come out and support our Focus section! It doesn't matter if your car is 'show worthy' or 'stock' please come and join us for a awesome time of chilling out with some of the best members that this site has to offer.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION as the "CLUB" to REGISTER UNDER IS NOT FOCUSFANATICS or FOCALJET!

WHAT DO I REGISTER UNDER?: In the past this has been a BIG issue. Whenever you register online or call when asked what club you are under please say 'FOCUS RISING' so that we can get a free tent once again. And that is ALWAYS nice whether it's pouring down the rain or way too hot to be out in the sun. Yes this year it will be Focus Rising as we are bringing together 8 East Coast Focus Crews under one name for this event.

INFO FOR FREE CLUB TENT-CLICK HERE Deadline for this is May 18. The Organizers of the Focus Rising Event will be taking care of the Registration List and Tent same as last year.

Once we get closer to the event I'll have to see if I'm free that weekend because if so, maybe I'll take the drive out to Carlisle in the Tibby and hang out with you guys for a bit :)

WURD

I know it's a little early to make reservations, but PAhotels.com has rooms at Hotel Carlilse listed at $75-$84 a night for June 6-8 2010. Just so you know how good a deal that is, last year I paid $110 a night and that was by far the cheapest price I found. From what I saw last year and have heard from others this is the nicest hotel in Carlisle. Also you can't get much closer to the show. The rates will probably increase as the show gets closer. I'm going to try to have my room locked in by April. Last year we had about 6 of us staying there and I hope this coming year we have even more.

**EDIT**
I had the dates wrong. If you stay Friday (4th) and Saturday night it will still be $111 a night. Still the best deal I could find last year, but going to start looking for a better deal this year. Sorry guys!
Hotel Carlisle is the official Hotel this go-around, I'm gonna ask Sean aka Scrammer why our rate that we were given is higher than PAHOTELS.com.

I can't remember what I wound up paying for my room last year at Hotel Carlisle, but I'm thinking that it was right around 100 bucks. Maybe Casey would remember? :dunno:

..............Hot girls dancing in a Pepsi Trailer, watching us all walk buy, and then their not so hot other Pepsi girls try to hand out the free sample of Pepsi 0? And the Carlisle Gnome is going to be there?

Add me to the list! :)

*btw, I didn't read ANY of this thread, I just saw it, and got excited for some Pepsi*

And for anyone wondering about said Carlisle Gnome..............

Oh yea, and forgot to mention that time when we were looking for the Red Line Tuning Tent..........all I have to say is......................"HEY SLIP!"

#25 ·
it took us close to an hour to find that damn tent. Little did we all know it like on the other side of all the SHO's lol. Hopfully we don't have *******s taking up our parking spots this year. And Hopfully Chaz doesn't get screwed by some 50+ yr. old woman who registers her car in the wrong class.

Hasn't been this much drama over Carlisle AFN in a long long time.

Last year I got a nice big ol' thumbs down and a dirty look as I pulled out. Then the threads that followed? Ack.

Ken I hope that you'll take the reigns. I'm excited for AFN to get back to people coming from all over to chill out, be laid back and have a blast. And less about who gave who a hot dog, who stared at who wrong or didn't say "Hello".

I'll be at AFN again this year.

Nobody ever offered me a hot dog. :(
