Well i just got home from an expeirence i will never forget and one that i will wish never happened but that's life right. I was just driving down the street and i was sitting at a stop light when my rpm starting rising while my foot was still on the clutch they stopped at about 3000 and stayed there for a couple seconds and the next thing i know the hood of my car was in my windshield the airbags were in my face and there was smoke every where. I haven't assesed total damage whick i will try to do tomorrow but i know that it was my nitrous that blew up shot my front bumper clear across the intersection blew the intake manifold of completely there is a empty hole where the intake was. So the car that i have only had for about 6 months and still owe 21,000 dollars on is sitting in a repo yard with a blown engine and totaled front in and a LOT more misery to follow in the next couple of months. So my advice to everyone is to think twice about nitrous. STUFF HAPPENS. i will keep you all updated.

was this in a saleen focus??

makes me think twice about nitrous for sure. So, was the 100% problem the nitrous? usually cars that stay above 3,000RPM are having TPS or throttle sticking issues. Maybe you can approach the dealer saying this isn't a problem with the nitrous system (which after you add, completely voids your warranty) this was a mechanical failure with FORD parts.

technically if the modification doesn't cause the problem, then its not your fault.

yea but technically he introduced a system that the mechanics inside the engine bay weren't specifically designed for a nitrous application unfortunetely :(((( musta been embarassing just having the car blow up in the middle of the road, now you have to deal with another car....hope you had insurance at least

Sounds like there had to be a leak somewhere, probably in the line running from the bottle to the intake mani, caught a spark when the rpms rose and ka boom! I dunno, just guessing. Sorry to hear it man. :(

that must have looked strange.

me rolling up on a juiced civic. me revving and popping the intake and hearing a giant WHOOOSH. then he revs. throws his hood into his face, and his front bumper into the street,

I would seriously be afraid of that kind of power
LMFAO yea me too I guess, gosh poor guy man that musta been NUTS looking

i always thought nitrous oxide is not inflamable, it only acts to aid better combustion in the cylinder???

well i am going to pick the car up today and i am going to check it out one of my friends had a friend whose muffler blew off because the solenoid stuck open. So i will keep you all updated the good news is if they consider the car totaled they will pay off the loan amount and i can forget about the whole thing and get another focus but turbo all the way no giggle gas lol. I will have pics shortly

lol prolly the funniest thing I heard in a while. Sorry that it happened but just picturing it is so funny. It would only have been better if you had a video lol. Again sorry for laughing but that is crazy, but hopefully you can get that fixed with as little hassle as possible.

damb man that sucks sounds like a big nitrous backfire, one of the solinoids must have been leekin and came in contact with some fuel after your car backfired into the intake mani and KABOOM that sucks man lots of work to do to get it back to stock
