Well, let's just hope the internals are forged. The head is different and the exhaust manifold may be different.

yes yes and yes.

also, a TMIC gives a good excuse for a functional hoodscoop

cool!!!

I would definetly find a way to use the subaru wrx sti hood scoop. I think it would look funny and cause a lot of attention. Might as well use the big boxy wing and the awd stickes while I'm at it. Just kidding, I'm only interested in the scoop. Anyone good with bondo?

They had an argument over whether it was or not on one of the other forums. I think the only conclusion they came to was that a Mustang GT scoop would, at least, look almost the same.

Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004.

After months of online research and massive postwhoring on [FJ]focaljet, it started to sink in to Z63R's brain.

The Ford/Mazda all-aluminum, fuel-injected twin-cam four-valve is truly a new World engine. Being built in four countries on three continents, the sheer quantity of these engines will make the Zetec look like a DeLorean.

The ramifications are staggering.

Yay for old posts! Anyway, since this topic got brought back up, I've got one thing to say: Six-speed!

Do you think the gear ratios for a 265 hp turbo would work decently with a Cosworth Stage 3?

Got the March issue of Sport Compact Car in the mail today, and the first drive of the Mazdaspeed6 is right in the middle.

Our little Duratec is looking very cool with this equipment. Mazda's Direct Injection Spark Ignition system injects fuel straight into the combustion chamber. Together with 15.6 psi, it makes the torque curve flat at 280 lb-ft from 2500 to 5500! But will the DISI system mean no head swaps?

They rate the new six-speed as completely awesome. The throttle-by-wire system doesn't complain any about left foot braking, unlike some other systems I've heard of. Plus, the AWD system feeds into the same LSD found in the RX-8. And if you yank on the handbrake, the computer actually knows to cut all power to the rear wheels.

I can't wait to get these parts!

It's very nice.

This issue also features the Saleen N2O, and mentions FocusSport's new Zetec supercharger and the new BTCC and WRC Foci in passing. Quite a Focus-heavy mag this month.
